How many wedding dresses did you try on?

Recommended Posts

The first time I went I tried on probably 4 dresses.  I knew which one would be the dress as I couldn't stop thinking about it and just make me feel like a bride.  The next time I went, I took my mom and tried on about 3 more just so she had something to compare it to.

I guess I won this competition by a landslide, I went to 10 stores, in 4 cities and 2 different provinces. I tried on at least 100 dresses. I never saw one that I liked for me. I also browsed through hundreds online, and ended up purchasing 2 ceremony gowns and 1 short reception dress. The dress that I finally ended up with is actually a combination off two dresses that I had custom made.

Went to one store I knew sold the dresses I was looking at and tried on about 5-6 dresses. I had my list of dresses to try on, but kept myself open to other silhouettes. My first choice was discontinued (couldn't find that bad boy anywhere!), so my second choice (first one I tried) became my wedding dress. I'm an executive decision chick. Since the only dress that would top it wasn't available, then I knew the second choice was the one. When you know, you know (like w/ our FIs, right?). woot.gif

I tried on about ten...but ended up buying the first one I tried on.  :)  It was also something COMPLETELY different than what I thought I wanted.  I thought I wanted Grecian/flowy that was very simple and ended up with a mermaid that is very modern!  Good luck!

I have tried on about 20 so far, but have not found "the one". Although the last store I went to was a nightmare. The sales lady was super nice, but kept pulling very traditional gowns when I want something flowy/beachy so I wound up trying on a lot there that I knew I didn't like. Fingers crossed I find it on my next trip.

I know what you mean! I went to 2 bridal salons & about 20 dresses later, found my dream dress that was NOTHING like I thought I had wanted lol! I was looking for a modern mermaid with little detail - ended up with fitted A-line with lots of detail :) so ladies, be open-minded when trying on dresses!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
