Any Wicky's Beach Club Brides?

Recommended Posts

I am back from our site visit, and we LOVED Wicky's!  The restaurant is beautiful and the food was awesome!  Location is perfect right in the center of the downtown strip.  They were setting up for another wedding during the day, so I was able to take some pictures of the set-up.  Enjoy!Setting up dance floor on the beach in front of El Faro700View of dance floor & WIcky's from the beachCeremony setup in front of El Faro

Ive just heard back from wickys! i was being very british and not wanting to send another email but after hearing nothing for 8-9days i bit the bullet and asked again if she could send the information to me. Turns out her email address wasnt workign for last 2 weeks and there were internet problems or something so she never got my original request.

She sent me a detailed list of questions about what i want in terms of decoration, furniture, cake, music, cocktail hours, dinner etc...and said she reply with a personalised package according to my response. The cake details she sent and flowers look great though. Also, a massive bonus is that there is a backup option if it rains.

Also we stared exchanging emails around 9.30..and she called me just now (10pm mexican time) as she said she would be very busy with a wedding tomorrow. So i quite like the fact she was willing to call so late!

I had the same thing happen. she often reminds me that she is very busy, so communication is a bit scattered at times, but she does pull it off (even at 10pm - ha! I've had some of those calls). there is no question that Linda goes above and beyond in her level of service, but I was disappointed that some of the vendors she recommended were priced completely beyond what we were looking for (e.g. a florist with $1,500 centerpieces and a $250 setup fee or a $300 cake - we have *11* people!!) I wish she filtered the choices better, but in the end, she is sort of volunteering her help with details that are out of her scope (we're just having dinner in the VIP room). I imagine the vendors she works with for weddings are priced more affordably.

on that note, I've also been working with Paula from the Blue Parrot (kindof by accident when I emailed about our group coming for the fire show after Wicky's). she is a DREAM and seems to have the inside track on vendors and pricing and DETAILS, omg SUCH a lifesaver. like paula, she has nothing really to gain from helping me (unless the vendors are giving her some type of referral fee, but I'm such small stakes with this teeny wedding, I couldn't imagine it'd even be worth her time). anyhow, Paula is ALWAYS available, emails me almost daily, got me a florist quote (the best I've seen yet) within hours (it took two weeks via Paula, whose vendors are also 'extremely busy'). Paula does it for the sheer love of wedding planning, and I wish I could return the favor to her somehow.

please let us know about your experience, jessi. it will be good to have a compare. marilili, I'm not sure what you're considering, but I found prices to generally be above what our all-inclusive is charging (e.g. for the cake and flowers). I didn't check anywhere else for dinner/drinks, but it seems pretty fair based on US standards. they're less than you'd pay here for an upscale restaurant like Truluck's. oh, at Wicky's, you won't get slammed with outside vendor fees or bogus sunset fees or sky lantern fees, so it would be $1,000 cheaper to move our wedding there based on those alone.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
