It's 50 days from today until the BIG DAY!!!! (48 until we leave!!!)

I am so excted.  It is so hard to beleive how fast the time is flying!

Everytime I cross something off of my to do list, I add another!  Gues it will be this way until I arrive at the airport!

We are almost there ladies!

Good Luck!

58 days for us to the wedding and 54 until we leave.  I completely agree that time is flying.  Also that the list is growing faster than I can cross things off.  I need to get my packing list under control.  I don't even have clothing on the list yet and I might need a u-haul to load into the plane to get us there.

Hi Fellow July brides!

We have 31 days to go.  We've got 64 guests confirmed. Still a few maybes including my younger siblings and parents. And still, 3 people have yet to respond! BangHead.gif

Other than that things are going pretty well. I ordered my cake decor today and parasols for the attendants. I have a fitting appointment on Friday to get my dress altered. The last two female attendants (negating my sister who still isn't sure she's coming) should get their dresses this week and the male attendants and my groom should get their outfits this week. My veil should be shipped at the end of next week.

Right about now, my only concern is what to do for our wedding finale. If I hadn't plan on resigning from my job, I would so have fireworks at our 4th of July wedding. OK, at $6,000 for 3 minutes maybe not, but I really would have liked to have had them.

My wedding coordinator suggested that sky lanterns would be another way to have a memorable sky production, but later told us that they were banned by the fire marshall. Next on the finale list were sparklers, which my coordinator told us she would allow.

At least one BDW bride said that TSA says they are a no no in luggage or carry-ons, so I tried to get them from the fireworks supplier in Jamaica. He's charging double the cost of the sparklers, which wouldn't be so bad except he will only sell them to people with fireworks permits. The permits cost $250!!!!! thatswck.gifI'm not paying $405 for 75 sparklers; $5.40 per sparkler seems outrageous!.

Does anyone have any other ideas for a visually beautiful send off for our wedding?

wow Atalanta... you are so close.  Everything sounds so great.  If it makes you feel any better, I am missing 25 response cards.  I didn't make any effort to track them down, I am just going with the notion that they are not going.  Since our resort is sold out, I figure no one will be coming last minute.  But really... 25 people couldn't send back a pre-addressed, pre-stamped post card.   BangHead.gif

I have seen that some brides get the sparklers down in their checked luggage, but I would be so nervous the whole time.  That is a crazy amount of money for the sparkler to burn for about 30 seconds. I love the sky lanterns and we thought of doing them, but I already have too much stuff to take.  So we aren't going to do any sort of send off.  More a fade into the sunset at the end of the night... LOL.

There is a vendor on Etsy called Say Anything Design...They have wedding departure sparklers, I think it's $70 for 100 sparklers, but don't quote me.

Good luck and congratulations!

Can you transport them into other countries?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
