July 2012 Brides

Wow... that is a huge DIY project.  At least it sounds huge in my head.  I bet they will all be great.  I can't wait to see all your hard work.

I am with you on the RSVPs.  Mine are due May 1st, and I am missing about 1/3 of them.  I don't usually mail RSVPs back immediately, but I definitely get them back before they are due.  I can see a couple of stragglers, but this is crazy the number that we are still waiting for.  Good luck tracking everyone down!  I haven't decided if I am going to follow up, or just assume that they aren't coming.

Your DIY projects seem lovely. I can't wait to read your planning thread!

Right now I'm just about finishing the wedding design with our coordinator. Next on the list were finishing my BD book and starting on folding 1001 origami cranes, which I haven't completely committed to doing yet.

But, our RSVPs were due yesterday and still over half of our guests have not responded. That means my re-prioritized first DIY project will be following up with everyone for their RSVPs.  I never understood how critical that step was to wedding planning. I am so guilty of late RSVPing to weddings. I guess one could say, "Karma".

Wishing you continued warm weather for great outdoor painting and drying!

Love the broom; you did a great job!  What other projects are you working on.

Thank you and congrats to you too.

We are working on table number cards and the menu cards at this time. What are you working on?

Getting back the RSVP cards have been a pain for me too!! I think that most people at least in my case are probably thinking that I already know they are booked so why should they have to send the card back.Very annoying! But my biggest headache right now is I have 9 out of 73 people booked who have not paid their trip off yet or even booked their flights! My wedding venue requires a final head count and payment by May 21st and my fear is that these 9 people could at the last minute bail out either because they don't have the money or there are no more flights left and I will not be able to get my money back!!!! So I am not really sure what to do....aww the joys of wedding planning!LOL

delgadot,

I am in the same boat having the same venue and all. We currently have a commitment from 64 people. We are waiting for 20 solid responses. Our final numbers and payment are due this week, and I still have people telling me they aren't sure yet if they can get the time off of work, but they want to come.  I still haven't heard from others so I'm still trying to nail down as many non-committed ones as I can.

I have decided not to pay for anyone who hasn't booked their ticket or hasn't confirmed that they are coming by the time I initiate the wire transfer. They will either get washed out in the overflow or not (Our venue allows for a 10% change for the same price).

My recommendation to you, @delgadot is to pay for 3 out of the 9 people you are expecting. This would give you 6 additional heads for whom you "technically" wouldn't have to pay, because they would fall in the 10%.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Ladies,

I am passed my 2 month mark; only 57 days to go!  Paid our coordinator our last payment and bought our tickets so now we are officially attending our own wedding. I'm back to my boudoir book and working on my veil. What's everyone else working on?

Wow... 2 months!!!!!  That stresses me out and I still have 2 and a 1/2 months... cheesy.gif

I am pulling together the last pieces for our welcome bags, and we are working on the guys attire.  I am finalizing the flowers too, so they will be finished and shipped soon.  So much to do, but it will be here before we know it.  I can't wait!!!!!

hahaha... it's okay.  I get stressed whenever anyone mentions how close it is.  I feel much better after this weekend though and my FI finally picking out the guys attire.  We got a couple of them measured, so hopefully we'll get that done and be able to order next weekend.  A couple more details and then hopefully we can relax and enjoy the time until we are in Jamaica.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
