That's cool. My mom has been doing this with 6 girlfriends for almost 40 years believe it or not. Every month one of them cooks at their house, it rotates. Then at Christmas time they get all decked out and take a limo to a nice restaurant. It's cute, they've been doing it since before they were married :o)

I don't feel like I have any proper hobbies...but I like:

Reading

Wine (my FIL has been into winemaking the last few years so I LOVE sampling what he's making, discussing it, coming up w/ new idea etc.)

Entertaining - I love having people for dinner. We grill a LOT during the summer. Also we like to have parties, Halloween, New Years, 4th of July etc.

Shopping

Hanging out w/ my man! :-)

I don't know if you could call them hobbies, but my life is mainly filled with wedding stuff (obviously!). Crafts for the wedding (searching for, buying, preparing and sewing the material for the OOT bags, VERY time consuming), a scrapbook for the guest book (purchased all kinds of stuff for it, but haven't done any work yet!).

Normally I like to:

Sleep

watch tv (I am a slug, what can I say?)

scrapbook

dinner and drinks is my fave

oh and then there is ANYTHING with my neice and nephew

read

I am stealing someone else's response for things I wish I did:

work-out

eat veggies

jog

(I often joke with my Mom that I want to get hypnotized into liking to sweat so I can work out, and liking food that is good for you instead of french fries and ice cream!)

A friend of mine wanted to get a group together and try a new restaurant every month.
No we switch houses, us and 3 other couples. We try a new recipe each time and we always try a bottle of new wine, as well as some of our favourites. It works out that we have 3 dinner parties each a year. It is sooo much fun. It makes us get together with all of our best friends, the hard part is other friends hear about our dinners and want to join us.

I tried to start a supper club where the host made the entree & everyone brought a side. Then you brought copies of the recipe to pass out. The first one went great, but no one has offered to host the 2nd. It was also too hard to keep the group size manageable.

My hobbies change all the time. they are usually random, but I start each new hobby with massive amounts of enthusiasm. Right now I'm hooked on making video montages & taking pitures of things in nature that look like letters of the alphabet. Both ideas from the forum.

I always enjoy anything to do with pictures. Photoshopping them, making calendars, ordering prints, removing red eye, framing them, putting them in albums, etc.

I'm currently organizing a beer tasting party. Sort of a hobby.

I like to workout & hike. Watch TV shows on DVD. Swing dance. Plan the wedding. Listen to books on my ipod. Playing on this forum usually takes most my free time.

Mind you a lot of these have taken a back seat to the wedding planning but now that I'm a newlywed, I'll definately be able to get back into this stuff.

working out, running and training for races- I've been in a 5 k and a half marathon

Any type of art making- drawing, painiting, crafting, etc.

cooking and trying out new restaurants- I just joined a supper club a few months ago. there's a different theme every month. Everyone brings a dish associated with the theme and recipes for everyone. Next month, each person brings a ravioloi filling with a companion sauce. We are then going to press our own ravioli. I'm so excited!!

traveling

reading

I want to take Spanish lessons and I'm a little embarrassed to say....but learn to ride a bike. i never learned. Jay is going to teach me so we can go on bike rides together.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
