I'm going into what is supposed to recovery week but since I missed a few days this week I am planning on redoing this week and will start the recovery week. I am surprisingly enjoying the workout and starting to feel stronger. I am also down about 5lbs!

Great job ladies!!  Its nice to see so many more brides doing Insanity still.  I love coming back to this thread to see all the support and motivation.  Keep up the great work ladies!!

I just celebrated my 1 yr anniversary 2 weeks ago and I was doing some Insanity before we went on vacation.  I love how I can always come back to it and know I am getting a great workout.  Unfortunately my body is unable to keep it up and I have been told I need to "take it easy".  Those words are not really in my vocabulary but with a busted hip, knee, foot and ankle I have decided to ride the bench for a while to let me body recover.  I plan on coming back to Insanity once I am at 100%.  I actually miss it if you can believe that. wink.gif

Keep it up ladies and don't beat yourself up if you have a hard time sticking to it during the holidays.  Just do what you can and don't get derailed or give up.

Hi Ladies, I have Insanity right in front of me and I think I'm going to start it as soon as I finish writing this.  I went from a VERY active job 2 years ago where I was in the best shape of my life at 29 years old, to a very sedentary job last May where I also spend a time travelling making it hard to eat right as well.  I am embarassed to say this but in those 2 years I've gained 25 pounds.  In the last month 3 different people have asked if I was pregnant!  All of my weight is in my stomach.

My fiance and I are currently having a house built which should be ready in March (I can't wait!) and in the meantime we're kind of in an uncomfortable living situation with roommates who are really messy making wanting to eat at home pretty undesirable so we eat out a lot.  These are all just excuses though, and with 8 months until our wedding do you think it's possible for me to lose that much weight?

I got a slow cooker for Christmas and for a week I've eaten nothing but healthy foods (it's killing me, haha!) but I have  not dropped even a pound.  I know I need to do more.  I tried P90X for one day a few months back and I couldn't walk for a week haha, and I hear Insanity is worse but I think I can do it before work on days I'm not travelling.  I am away 2 days next week, but I can always use the hotel gym on days I'm away.  I can see a lot of you have been disciplined and successful.  Here goes nothing.....

I did it!  Well, I made it through the whole Plyometric Cardio video.  I'd say I completed about 70% of what they did - the suicide drills were killer and I couldn't do more than a couple of those.  I worked slower at them, but considering I've done nothing for a long time I'm proud of myself!

I ran across the this thread and now I am very interested in trying this workout program. I have 5 months until my wedding so I think thats enough time for my fiancé and I to get in shape. I currently live in a apartment on the second floor so my only hesitation is that people below me may get rather annoyed. I loved reading about all the great results people had! Thanks!

mytye2B - I totally think you can do it, and I have no doubt you'd lose 25 lbs doing Insanity if you completely committed to it 6 days a week going all out like they do in the videos (once you're in shape enough to, of course!) I'm also in the camp of not being able to walk for a week after doing it, so now I'm doing my own geriatric version where I take out all the jumps. not only is it easier, it allows me to build up to it while still increasing my cardio abilities. I'd only recommend it for people going from near inactivity to Insanity - if you're a runner or work out often, you shouldn't have to do that to start.

also, you can play the dvds off your laptop anywhere. that's what my husband and I do now that we're exercising at home and have to create a space to work out. when we were in an apartment previously, we'd just take our laptops to the gym there and play it from them.

I think there was someone on here who tried it in an apartment, and they just talked to their downstairs neighbors beforehand to work out a mutually-agreeable time. the jumping isn't prolonged, so long as your floor/their ceiling has some sort of sound barrier between. you could try it and see how it goes or take your laptop to an open area (apartment gym? work gym?) to work out. it might even be worth a gym membership so you could use the exercise rooms when they don't have classes. it's something my husband and I have contemplated.

I'm glad to see this thread is still alive. hang in there, ladies - and KEEP PUSHING!! : )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
