The Official INSANITY Support Thread

Recommended Posts

Just finished week one and am feeling great!!!!!

Congrats on your weight loss thus far, that is amazing!!! From what I hear from the ladies on here and what I have experienced so far, Insanity will really transform your body!
We downloaded the workout online (left that to FI but if you want details Im sure I can get it!) so we kind of cheated there.  We live in an apartment but I am thinking our floors are concrete OR the old man below up doesnt notice our jumping.  Do you know your neighbours below?  Maybe talk to them and see if they can hear you etc in a test run just do some jumping around and running on the spot.  We do the workout on yoga mats to help with a little of the shock absorption and banging for the below neighbour as well.  Whether it works or not Im not sure but I like that were not making AS much noise!

I don't think you would get the same results if you took out the jumping since that is the basis of the workout and the biggest part of the cardio but maybe the yoga mat thing may work for you too!!!! I definitely recommend trying it out.  We get married in Feb so the 2 months will take us just before xmas and then I hope to do a mix of the 2 months in january until we leave.  I am still doing hot yoga a few times a week as well.

Want to lose another 25lbs before my March wedding, but I know I need to be a bit more drastic in order to accomplish this. I've been doing about 45 minutes of cardio (running, Eliptical, cycling) and 15 min of weight training 5-6X per week.

A few tactical questions - how much are the DVDs? And for those of you who live in apartment buildings.....is the jumping really out of control? I don't want to piss off the neighbors! ;)

Getting excited to try something new and get some more results!

So the Asylum is officially the next step of Insanity! LOL! It comes with a ladder to do speed drills (i HATE that thing) and a jump rope (working on my coordination) I kept tripping over the jump rope.  No breaks, just straight through, its not interval training its SPROTS training, like if you were a professional athlete with a sports team these are the drills that you were do.

Today was speed and agility, tomorrow is strength...30 days Im going to stick in there!

Hey ladies,

I've been debating over whether or not to try P90x or Insanity...have any of you done both and have  a preference as to which one will tone you up more? I hear mixed reviews about the two of them..not sure if I could commit to 90 days! :S 60 is more reasonable..however we already own P90x, but if Insanity does a better job than i'm willing to go out and get that. I'm not really wanting to lose weight just tone up!

Thanks in advance! :)

FI did p90x a few years ago and liked it.  I could not get motivated by the guy lol even though I curse Shaun T. during my insanity workouts I much prefer his style.  Also with insanity you don't need any other equipment just your running shoes and maybe a yoga mat (I like doing my push ups and stuff on it) but no weights etc.  I found with p90x you needed other equipment.. at least FI had weights a chin up bar etc.

Hey Ladies, I just started week 3 of INSANITY and I love it!!! I haven't had a problem with motivation yet as the first month is flying by, but I'm already dreading month two as the workouts sound so much harder! Does anyone hate the cardio power and resistance dvd!? My legs are weak and I totally can't handle all that jumping! Anyways I think this is a great thread and hopefully we can all keep each other motivated :)

I think it's the difference between strength training and cardio, with P90X being strength. I had a friend who did P90X, and she said she was still running at the same time because there wasn't any cardio. however, given your goal of wanting to tone up, it may be better for you.

also, the length of the P90X workouts vary up to 1.5 hrs, whereas Insanity is constant at 40 mins for the first month and 60 for the second.

My DVDs arrive tomorrow!!

eee how exciting! I've decided to actually just do it the way it was designed, rather than 5 days on, 2 days off.

I'll let you all know how I do tomorrow when it gets here!   I have a feeling is going to kick my @$$, so I'll be needing help staying motivated!

oh, anyone have any good shakeology recipes??

you can buy some samples of shakeology. I was excited about the nutritional benefits, but it is THICK and rather strong. I don't think I could finish another one. maybe if you're already used to shakes?

If it's thick, add more water. I put in atleast 12 ounces of liquid in with mine and it's perfect!

I've done a round of Insanity and around of the asylum. Both of them really helped me tone up especially my mid section! I have a hate/love relationship with Insanity. I hate it but it makes me look and feel so good when I'm done! Good luck to everyone; stick with it and you will love the results!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
