We want more of a restaurant venue than a banquet hall I think. and I think we may have found one! It's called Public Landing Restaurant, in Lockport, IL. I actually went to an AHR there years ago, before I really knew much about destination weddings. Adorable old building, right on a canal, with screened in porches, patios, old stonework... FI and I are checking it out next weekend. If the price is right, we'll book it! :-)

the summers are always slow...people are out doing stuff but it will most likely pick up in winter.

also, we have the region sections so people have broken up in groups like "toronto brides' etc....to do their chit chatting.

but i

i am exhausted from this weekend... a bday party and then we went "fishing"...we really went to the lake and my son got to use his fishing pole that did not have hook or bait on it.

Abbie, maybe it will pick back up.  I tend to get really bored at work, so that would be great for me!  HA!!!

There are a few Colorado Brides/groom on here, but not much action going on in that thread!

Glad everyone had a pretty good weekend!  Mine was fun.  Went up to Vail to celebrate Oktoberfest.  It was raining off and on all day, but it was still a lot of fun!  Then hosted my family for the Bronco game yesterday!  Good times, but exhausting!

The Octoberfest in our town starts in late September.  Some years its entirely in Sept, don't know why, but it is.

I finally (after 11mo) got our official wedding certificate.  So happy!  Not sure why it meant so much to me to have it, but I am glad its here!!  Maybe I'll have it framed as an anniversary gift, ha!

I don't get on during work, our comupter usage is monitored, but enjoy checking in ever so often in the evenings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
