I doubt very much she would pay. As I was told, after transportation, assistant fees and all other expenses, they are left with about half of the amount(just like any other vendor out there). So I can't see her spending that $40 she has left on the hotel room for the night.

cheers

Hey Flores,

I spoke to Indira and I must apologize for posting those prices! I thought posting them might not be the best of intentions but since I couldn't pm Kelley I put them on the thread which is not fair to the artist. She gave me those prices since I know her friend but she also didn't check what the fair market value was at that time. Prices have gone up and she's still below what other Artists are charging, they all have a set rate when it comes to anywhere outside of the Capital (If they're from there, which most are).

I had reached out to Jochy Campusano which is a great Make up Artist but his prices were way more than I was willing to pay. He charges $300.00 for the Bride, $150 for the Bridesmaids and $75 for hair.

Just felt the need to clarify my prices from before. I know it might be expensive for some but for those who are willing to pay, I have more info if you need.

Hi Miss Sunshyne,

I'm getting married next October in Domincan Republic and as hair and make-up are very important to me I would be willing to pay the extra to have a professional makeup artist and hair stylist as i'm concerned about the stylist within the resort.

I have contact the artists you have spoke about but if you could give me anymore information that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

As I said before Indira is great at communicating, is professional, speaks english, does make up classes monthly and is all over in radio talk shows speaking about makeup in the Dominican Republic, I will posts pics after the wedding to give you more reassurance.

The Hair Salon is called "Sandra" the owner's name is Sandra lol (I met with her when I went to do my site inspection). Salon is decent, not small, 4 hair dressers, they have albums with their work, but I brought my pictures as examples)

the address is Plaza Punta Cana Local No.55, Bavaro, Higuey, R.D.

The phone # is 809-552-1398 - they provide transportation to and from the resort it's literally a 2-3 minute ride. Since I'm getting beforehand I will visit set up appts. for the bridesmaids. that way no one is there waiting to get their hair done.

Hope this helps :)

Swojdyla-I too am getting married at Riu Palace, a bride that got married there in July posted a review about her wedding and I asked her about her hair and makeup and if she was happy with them.  She said they were great, Jamie is the manager and Elizabeth is who styled her hair and makeup in her room....

I am still trying to decide myself what I am going to do for my hair and makeup, if I am not happy with it I will definately panic too and throw a fit lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
