Hey girls!

So I reserved my date at NOW for April 17, 2012 at 3:00 PM!!!! It was only $100 and I knew I would feel better just jumping in and booking. It will all work out with room prices, I know they will continue to run amazing specials.  I also booked PhotoPhil. Very excited. Now to find a dress...who thought that would be so hard? Ha ha!

JB:

Ha, ha, I am not that brave. We are having such a small wedding I am not concerned about saving rooms at all. We will have 12 rooms at the most, and I bet even less once the time comes. If we were having a bigger group coming I would have waited for sure! Although it is only $100 and if I change my mind I feel like it is worth it to at least have the date booked so I can book my photographer for $100! Now, they just need to get back to me on room prices, it is getting border line ridiculous.  Have you had any luck on quotes this week?

Congrats on your date!!! Acutie RN=) pinkie.gifPicking the place is the hardest part, everything else seems to be  falling into place=) (except the high cost of airairfare....ughh)  Do you have contact info on photophil or a website I can check out some of his work?  JB what kind of packages do they have at the other resort?  Whichever you choose I'm sure will be great!  I've come to the realization that its hard to go dollar for dollar....every resort offers different packages that some items seem higher and others less.... I was driving myself crazy with all of it!  I basically went with my gut instinct and am crossing my fingers that this was the way to go!!!   Everything about it seems good & only getting better!!  Now Im starting to get excited, guests are starting to book & b4 you know it I'll be getting married in Paradise!YAY

Moniwoni,

Ocean's packages are comparable to Now's, they're not bad with pricing also and they include 40 guests in the package so it really is worth looking at in my opinion. Our choice depends on affordability, since we knew we can't really control gas prices--- if air prices are high, its high there's no working around that... I'm sure doing a group rate would help but we are calculating $600-$800 for airfare so we really want to keep the costs of the stay part as low as we can, so we're really considering every alternative.

So do you have any color themes picked out yet? Any outfit ideas? Atleast you have your dress checked off your list! I really hope to book by this weekend! So I can move on with these things as well.

Keep us posted!

I definitely here you with affordability!  40 is fantastic!!! I'm  not 100% with color schemes yet.  Researching bridesmaids dresses now..... leaning towards a magenta or plum possibly even a coral color (something tropical)  My bm's are all different shapes and sizes.... so I like the empire waist dresses in a chiffon, or another light material in floor or tea length.    I'm gonna check out that other site.... no worries you'll be booked soon enough=)

JB:Those colors sound awesome! I am not even close to picking colors.  I am still just trying to make sure I made the right decision with NOW.I still have no confirmation that I have my date and time even though I paid for it.  It has been several days, they said they got the info but just no confirmation. I am also going on two weeks without hearing from someone regarding room rates. I guess they don't really want me to book since I am getting no response. I am seriously emailing every day as well as is my TA. So frustrating!!!

As for Phil, his webpage is www.steingardstudios.com.  Email him there and he will get back to you within a week or so.  So far I am very pleased with his work. I have PM'd with a bride who was married in March at ME and he was their photographer. She had an amazing experience.

Good luck with planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
