"New Resort Opening May 1 2011" NOW LARIMAR ~ PUNTA CANA

Recommended Posts

@susanmike2013 @chrisdeluca - Both of your wedding pictures look amazing!!!! I just signed up and started looking into Now Larimar (the divine package) as a possible wedding location! (also looking into Dreams Palm Beach) I have a few questions that I hope you ladies can help me with.

*Beach Ceremony: Did they block off a section for your ceremony?

*Poolside Reception: Did they allow dancing? Were other hotel guests able to swim in the pool during your reception or did they block it off?

*Does the cocktail hour and reception include open bar (or alcoholic beverages)? Or is it additional?

*Does the entertainment "B package" include mic and speaker system?

*Is the house photographer any good? Did you do trash the dress photos?

*Did you stay at Now Larimar for your honeymoon too? Were there too many kids there?

*Welcome bags: Did you ship everything ahead of time or bring it in with your luggage?

*Welcome BBQ: Does Now Larimar offer this? If so, how much?

Thank you so much and congrats!!!!

*Beach Ceremony: Did they block off a section for your ceremony?

- no not really.... we did get married on the preferred side of the beach so there were less peope. I honestly didn't notice anyone :-)

*Poolside Reception: Did they allow dancing?  Yes, I didn't have my reception there but saw others. The set up is beautiful.

Were other hotel guests able to swim in the pool during your reception or did they block it off?
It is not blocked off but it is semi private. The pool usually clears out by 6ish anyhow

*Does the cocktail hour and reception include open bar (or alcoholic beverages)? Or is it additional?

Included, you can upgrade it for a cost

*Does the entertainment "B package" include mic and speaker system?

I had the basic package and it included both.

*Is the house photographer any good? Did you do trash the dress photos?

I used Phil Steingard, not the resort photographer.

I opted out of TTD... having a AHR and didn't want to risk it. Also Phil's TTD takes place at another resort and the times didn't work well for us.

*Did you stay at Now Larimar for your honeymoon too? Were there too many kids there?

We took our children :-) If you book preferred you have full access to Secrets which is adult only.

My family that arrvied on a different day got upgraded to secrets.. its building two.
We didn't see alot of children but we spent all of our time in the preferred area by building one. Besides our twins there were two other children in that area during the week.

*Welcome bags: Did you ship everything ahead of time or bring it in with your luggage?
Passed them out the day we left to the people opn our flight and brought a suitcase full for guests arriving on a different flight.
Depending on your airline it can get costly! Our TA got us double the weight for free and we still had some issues....

*Welcome BBQ: Does Now Larimar offer this? If so, how much?
We didn't bother with a welcome event....

@ My Belle 714-

*Beach Ceremony: Did they block off a section for your ceremony? From what I saw the beach ceremony was not private at all! I found a lot more people would stay at the beach till 7ish or sometimes later.

*Poolside Reception: Did they allow dancing? Were other hotel guests able to swim in the pool during your reception or did they block it off?  They shut down the quiet pool around 6ish, block it off and start getting it ready.

*Does the cocktail hour and reception include open bar (or alcoholic beverages)? Or is it additional?  Yes, depending on which package you get I think it includes 25 people and than you pay extra per extra person.

*Does the entertainment "B package" include mic and speaker system? I believe you get the mic and sound system with all of the packages.

*Is the house photographer any good? Did you do trash the dress photos? I had the devine package and it came with a wedding video and 24  photos, they turned out pretty good! I also brought my own photographer, who is absolutely unreal!

*Did you stay at Now Larimar for your honeymoon too? Were there too many kids there? We stayed a week with all of our guests. It is a family friendly resort, but there was never an issue with too many kids there.

*Welcome bags: Did you ship everything ahead of time or bring it in with your luggage? We did not do these, seemed like a waste to me.

*Welcome BBQ: Does Now Larimar offer this? If so, how much? You can do a welcome dinner for your guests but I think its at a certain cost. If you don't have too many guests you can set up a dinner in the buffet for everyone.

Hope that helps!

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has the current pricing for the beach party reception. Also can you do just dancing and dj for it or do you have to include the dinner? How many guests does it include and how much for additional guests.

If anyone has any additional information about the beach party any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
