I personally couldn't justify spending $550 to only receive 50 pictures!  I thought that was OUT TO LUNCH.  The package I have purchased from an outside vendor is a mere $100 more than that for 300 pictures!  I also preferred the outside photographers style to that of the resort photographer.  As a budding photographer myself, photography was important to me, so I found a photographer that I felt was more fitting to my personal needs.

THAT being said, I received an email from WBA Photo this morning (the resort photographer) showcasing their work.  It still doesn't say ANYTHING about this new policy, but I predict that email is coming soon.  Did anyone else receive an email from WBA?

I received the email from them yesterday. And I agree with you 100%. We shouldn't even have to justify our choice of photographer, ask any bride and the most important thing in a wedding is your pictures, your memories.

We just received a response so I thought I would update you all. Good news for those with photographers traveling with them:

"Regarding your question, as your photographer is part of your wedding and is staying in Now Larimar he is allowed in  the resort.

Should you have any quesitons, or comments, please feel free to contact us."

Hi everyone!! I wrote a review for my wedding with pictures, but they made me put it in the review section, check it out! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/now-larimar/reviews Overall our wedding at Now was perfect!! Our 45 guests all loved the wedding and the resort, it was great!! :) If you need any more info, don't hesitate to ask! ;)
Did you have your reception at the quiet pool by the fountain area or the relaxing pool on the far side of the resort away from the beach? We're trying to decide which pool is best for us. Thanks!!

Thats great news! I still haven't heard from Luisa and I am getting very impatient. Thinking about getting my Travel Agent involved and a lawyer at this point. I do not have a contract with the resort photographer and I will not be forced to use them!

Hello Ladies, sorry for the late response!! I did call NOW Larimar and spoke with Luisa. I expressed to her my concerns and she told me that she is aware that many brides are upset and has communicated this to management. She is waiting for management to get back to her regarding this issue, so for right now she recommends for us to give her some time until she hears back from management. I just asked her to tell management about the number of brides that are upset....I truly think this can be changed...after all I did sign a contract in November 2012, four months prior to this policy change.

Thank you very much Carrol.

I signed my contract back in April/May 2012.. I also went through everything sent to me and no where does it state policys can change without notice.. prices can and wedding packages can.

I even have my wedding spreadsheets done and confirmed with the wedding dept stating my outside photographer, thererfore legally they can not deny this.

So fingers crossed it does not come to that sort of situation ;-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
