"New Resort Opening May 1 2011" NOW LARIMAR ~ PUNTA CANA

Recommended Posts

My travel rep who is a god sent is looking into this for me... I will post when I hear anything

I like to play the "I didnt know card" like Danielle said.

I will NOT contact them to ask about it... if they don't contact me then I would of never known!

I also have EVERYTHING done with them so there is no need for any further communication

What are they going to do tell me the day of my wedding .... HA! Tell the guy he can't come on the resort?

I am pretty sure having a lawyer with you will go a long way on this! We all got a lawyer friend attending our weddings right ;-)

On June 13th 2012 I was told the below, and I have the email printed to take with me!

I am bring my own photographer but he is staying at another resort, could you tell me how I would purchase a day pass so he can attend my wedding and the cost? The Cost to be paid for outside vendors is US$150 per person/day (dinner not included). If you want to add dinner for your photographer, the cost is US$35 per person, or you can include him/her in your dinner as extra guest.

If they want to fight that on my day.. bring it! They have no idea who they will be messing with!

I also looked all over their site.. there is no mention of it. So legally this can not stand... their site and emails states prices can change not policy's....

I agree, this can not stand. We can not be forced to use a specific photographer if we are also expected to pay for it! If the resort is forcing me to use a certain company, then the resort should pay for it. My money, my choice!

Absolutely!
I have an email where I asked what info I would need to provide to them to ensure there would be no trouble having the photographer arrive on the resort for my wedding day.  They had ample opportunity to tell me otherwise at that time.
Soooooo, yes, I will bust out my "lawyer friend" if necessary!  (haha!)

Anyways, here's hoping that it gets resolved... SOON.
I'm still anxious to hear what Carrol has to say!

I am sure they do a fantastic job, but the packages are not close to comparable! The resort photographer is much more expensive and I do not want printed pictures to travel back with. It's the principle as well that I should be allowed to choose whomever I want to take pictures at my wedding, these are my memories and if I have to pay for a service I want to be able to choose who will provide it.

The quality of the resort photographer is completely unrelvant to me. We have two photographers coming with us, they are booked and paid in full and we have a non-refundable deposit paid to them for several thousand dollars. I'm not really sure if our situation is subject to this policy as our photographers will be guests at the hotel for the entire stay and guests at our wedding. We booked this all last March so changing a policy now just does not seem legal, appropriate or even a possiblility in my eyes.

I hope this gets resolved very quickly, please keep us posted and let us know if we can be involved in a 'group fight". We are emailing our WC as well.

I'm with the other girls.  It's not a matter of being "angry" as such, it's just the principle of the matter.  If they want to implement a new policy, fine, but it isn't fair to those of us brides who already have deposits/full payments paid for a photographer.  IF we had wanted the resort photographer, we would have booked them, but for whatever reason, whether it be cost or personal photography style preference, we decided to go elsewhere for photography services.

I personally couldn't justify spending $550 to only receive 50 pictures!  I thought that was OUT TO LUNCH.  The package I have purchased from an outside vendor is a mere $100 more than that for 300 pictures!  I also preferred the outside photographers style to that of the resort photographer.  As a budding photographer myself, photography was important to me, so I found a photographer that I felt was more fitting to my personal needs.

THAT being said, I received an email from WBA Photo this morning (the resort photographer) showcasing their work.  It still doesn't say ANYTHING about this new policy, but I predict that email is coming soon.  Did anyone else receive an email from WBA?

We got one from WBA, didn't say anything about it however in another email from the WC the footer of her email had that notice in Red. We sent a her a kind reply stating that we read that and that we had booked this all a year ago and it was too late for them to be implementing a policy like this. We will see what she replies but she's only getting one nice email, if they don't retract this policy at least for current bookings the next emails/phone calls will be going to the management of AMResorts.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
