"New Resort Opening May 1 2011" NOW LARIMAR ~ PUNTA CANA

Recommended Posts

I booked HDC, the 1st picture is HDC, second is WBA and the last 2 are just our own camera .

Miljan was our photographer from HDC and I highly recommend him. He took charge and got beautiful shots and then asked if there were any special type of poses we wanted. Very outgoing and knows just how to get the perfect shot.

@KChenard; Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos. I have the same type of wedding planned as you with the ceremony on the beach and the reception by the pool. Were you happy with the way everything turned out? Were there any hidden charges that you did not plan for? You looked absolutely stunning!!! Congratulations.

rosepetal - Thank you :)  There were no hidden costs, I kept everything very simple because I did not want to be overweight in luggage at the airport and I did not want to pay hundreds of dollars on centerpieces etc. I am looking for my bill to tell you exactly what was on it but I cannot seem to find it now. I paid by credit card so just remember they charge pesos to your credit card if thats how you pay.

We were all very happy with everything. Silvia really put the few decorations I gave her together nicely. We only had 17 people so we took the floral sweetheart centerpiece that is included in the divine package and used on our long rectangular table. I brought a few candles then purchased votive candle holders there for 1 dollar each.

I was very extremely excited to come back to the forum and tell all future brides how happy we were with everything. I was a HUGE stress ball before we got there. But it was PERFECT. The only stress when we were there was whether it would rain. You have to choose early in the day of your wedding whether you want to keep everything outside or use the backup plan. Silvia met with me in the am, printed out the weather forecast and I had to sign my decision. I am glad we chose to stick with outside because we had no rain. :)

Hey guys!!

So I just got back from my honeymoon on Saturday and my first advice to you is, donâ€t stress about it! I suggest you do your research and prepare as much as possible before you get there, but once you get there, just relax! They know what theyâ€re doing and it will be absolutely beautiful! Everyone warned me that thereâ€s always something that goes wrong at weddings, especially destination weddings. So I had told myself to not expect too much and to plan everything I could ahead of time! But everything was PERFECT!! Nothing went wrong and it was gorgeous!!

My guests and I absolutely loved the resort, we have no negative comments and we all want to go back. The rooms, the food, the location and the people were phenomenal :) My hubby and I were upgraded to Preferred Club!!

To anyone that is debating between Dreams Palm Beach and Now Larimar, I would strongly recommend getting married at Now Larimar without a doubt!!! I was really debating about these 2 resorts and picked Now Larimar since it was less expensive for me and my guests. My hubby and I decided to spend our Honeymoon at Dreams Palm Beach instead (so we did 9 days at Now and 5 days at DPB). When we got to DPB we were very disappointed. DPB was more expensive and better rated according to trip advisor, so we thought we were “upgrading†to a better resort. That was not the case. Overall we were just so thankful that we had our wedding at Now Larimar!! :)

Wedding @ Now :
Donâ€t expect too much at the wedding meeting when you get there. I expected to see all kinds of examples to choose from, and there was not much, just the pictures that we see online. So bring your own picture of what you want (cake, flowers, decoration…) and youâ€ll be fine! I had Luisa and she was amazing!! Always working hard and still at the computer when I would walk by around midnight!

Another tip is unless you REALLY want to get married at the beach, choose the fountain!!! MUCH more private and beautiful!! My friends/family and I pitied those getting married at the beach with ALL the onlookers… there is zero privacy and people are so disrespectful, they would all gather up all around without even considering that itâ€s a PRIVATE event and that they would be in the pictures, you literally have ppl you donâ€t know in bathing suits like right beside you! Not to mention some topless old ladies and men with speedos spotted right besides the first wedding I saw! :S It might depend on what time you have your ceremony, but I preferred the fountain!

I went to the spa for my hair and make-up and I LOVED it!! Make sure you bring pictures of what you want and theyâ€ll do it! It obviously helped that I had my best friend who is a perfectionist and speechâ€s fluently Spanish with me the whole time! ;)

I used Pastor York for my ceremony and everyone loved him!! He is hilarious and definitely worth the $350 extra! The ceremony lasts about 20-30 minutes instead of 5-10 minutes with the WC. I thought it looked more legit, but if you want a short ceremony, go with the WC. And I used HDC for my photos and videos! They were amazing; Miljan (the photographer) was so nice and had great ideas for pictures… I got all my things 2 DAYS later!! All of my pictures and my 60 minute video all edited! My friends here in Canada are actually considering them for their weddings here since they are so GREAT!! Loved them! :)

I LOVED MY FLOWERS!! The ceremony at the fountain and the reception at the quiet pool were awesome! I had brought most of the decorations, but they were set up just as I envisioned it! The flowers were gorgeous!! We chose the Gold buffet and the Marble cake and it was delicious!! We had the resort DJ and MC and I gave them a list of songs and they did amazing!! We got the B package so we would get the nice purple lights at the reception! I initially wanted DJ Mannia, but they were more expensive with the vendor fee and since the reception was only 3 hours I didnâ€t think it was worth it!

Donâ€t hesitate to ask me any questions! :)

Hi jennifer8913!

Thanks! It was just such a perfect day! :)

For my centerpieces I used purple submersible lights that I bought here: http://www.100candles.com/submersible_led_lights.htm

I rented the vases from the resort for $10 each and used the pomanders from my ceremony as my flowers. Yes, I brought my table runners and chair sashes. They are actually all table runners that I bought on e-bay for $1 each, so you know they will match and its way less expensive than renting them from the resort at $6 each for the chair saches ($3 at ceremony + $3 at reception) and I know the table runners are more expensive. We did the Gold buffet and it was delicious, everyone loved it! Yes my flowers came from the resort, they were white lilies and fuschia orchids! My bouquets were pretty expensive tho, $160 for me and $130 for my BM, but the were gorgeous!!

I'm glad your going with the fountain, pool and HD, you won't regret it!! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
