-my dress is picked up , wohooo, its all wrinkly though, i got it from dresylime designer knock off in china, and very happy with it. Im debating weather or not i should have it steamed it before i leave for DR, or have it done there, i guess im just nervous how good of a job they will do down there,

-Silvia my WC has contacted me via email, that she needs me to complete the wedding-planner form with all the details.

-I actually called her today and she was very nice and informative. I have 2 photographers outside from the resort who are from Punta Cana, and i would need to pay $300 vendor fee, which i made piece with. BUT you can pay resort daily rate to have them stay there, and if its a good promotion you can get a good deal, and instead pay to put them up in the resort instead of paying the vendor fee! In my case getting a room at the resort is costing same as a vendor fee, so its a wash! So i will pay for the room for them, so they can arrive, put all there stuff and not feel like gypsy with their stuff.

-One thing im a little confused about is, photographers will be seated at the table with kids near by so they can just get up quickly and shoot away, DO I need to order meal for them?if they are staying at the resort?what is the protocol?

- i called the resort spa to find out about hair/make up. It is 59$ for the hair (wash not included) and $40 for the make up , same price for bride and bridesmaids

I think this is it for now,

Wow!!!! I cant wait til I am at the one month mark!!! im just coming up on the 11 month mark!! lol. Thanks so much for your info!! really helps a lot!!! :) Hope everything is going as planned for you and you have a beautiful wedding! who is ur photog? cant wait to see pics!!!

Hello thesportsgal.  I had Francina.  She is absolutely amazing.  She is actually the Manager above all the other WC's.  You will love her. She is easy to work with and definitely a pleasure.  I give her 2 thumbs up with the work she did with me.  Good luck!

Thanks, vizionme!  I hope everything works out well.

I have contacted an outside florist to see what their prices are vs. the resort.  I'll let anyone know when I hear back.  The florist got right back to me with a reasonable quote, I just have to figure out with the outside vendor fee if it is worth it.

Did anyone buy centerpieces from the resort?  If so, how were they?  I was going to do fake flowers and bring them with me but have decided against it and am doing real...;)

@suzzymf. Originally i was going with the divine, but then  i did my math, DjMannia, im also bringing my own real touch flower bouqets. So i have no use of the photographer, and the flowers that come in the package, cause i want all the same flowers...so im paying for things individually, i have 37-39ppl attending...and to me it seems like a better deal, so will see, i may change my mind...Im also debating about the the fire dancers....

I asked Silvia how much will the gazebo set up with the fabric that included in the divine package will cost?she said 350$, so i will just do this and pay for the platinum food menu per person etc..

i also will bring paper lanterns to be hang, maybe 25-30, WC said it will be $75 which is fine...

so will see...

Yes, we are debating between doing the package or customizing our own, since we are supplying own photographer and music as well.
Does anyone know how much they charge for the tall glass cylinder vases? What about charger plates? Just trying to decide what is better to buy here vs. rent there.

That's great advice about getting them a room for cheaper - never really thought about that... And then yes, I think you half to pay for their dinner on top of that, I asked that somewhere else and got the answer yes..... Nuts!

Thanks for the info about the spa too... I will add it to the website!! Awesome!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
