"New Resort Opening May 1 2011" NOW LARIMAR ~ PUNTA CANA

Hi ladies, not sure if this is anywhere else on this thread, but are any of you bringing your own centerpieces? I am thinking of doing our own, but just wanted some advice from other brides. Also are the tables all round?

@ Jennifer 8913 - I'm bringing a bunch of candles, candles holders and decoration for our reception. We are going to have 3 round tables and one sweetheart table. I sent Mercy a picture of a rose centerpiece that I wanted and she quoted me $140 per table. Its pricey, but I feel like it would look a little empty without flowers. Fake flowers just dont do it for me.

I say bring as much as you can, cause they will charge you for everything and anything.

BTW - did any of the past brides used sparklers? I would realloy want some for our last dance, but I'm not sure if you're even allowed to bring them down there with you.

Thanks suzzMF! I think I have decided on paper lanterns with LED lights and my starfish and shells places around them, really like the tall skinny lanterns in varying sizes and in my wedding colors, which I know changed to guava and tangerine due to now finalizing the bridesmaid dresses!! The prices there are very expensive, hard to believe how far the American dollar doesnt get us!!!! lol

I am planning on also bringing my own chair shashes, I have found them for $11 for 10 sashes, the resort is charging $3 a pc!!!

I am sure sparklers are ok on resort, just not sure if they would get thru customs, def something to check into!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
