@SKYGIRL Cristina was amazing and she had gave us specific quotes for alcohol, tiffany chairs, and DJ. However, Mercy is now questioning it all and may not be able to negotiate the same arrangements with us. I'm practically finding out two weeks before my wedding that we have to somehow come up with 5 grand extra because of this. We finally spoke with Mercy after waiting for three weeks and this is the news that she gives me.

@SKYGIRL So I know I probably sound very crazy but god must have answered my prayers. Because right after I made my last post, Mercy contacted my fiance and informed him that she would work with our original quote (:!! Because we have a big party (140 people) Cristina was hooking us up with a small discount for the tiffany chairs and alcohol. Fortunately, I didn't have to go as far to contact anyone above Mercy, but trust me when I say that my claws were out! lol

TO be honest my planning experience was almost perfect and the only reason this happened is because I had to have soemone take over my planning two weeks before the wedding. So I'm more than sure that your special day will turn out perfect! Keep ALLLL emails and make sure they provide you with an updated quote anytime a change is made. Happy planning!

I did have my reception at the Castaways, that was my requirement! We had 35 people all together and it was perfect, the Castaways is not so big and there are portions of the restaurant where you can choose to have them set up your reception... The pictures above is the spot that is closest to the ocean, I had mine in the middle section of the restaurant. It was a VERY windy night so we had them bring down the divider, kinda like a wall to sort of cover us a bit from the wind. I hope that made sense!

If you bring the lanterns they set that up for you as long as you give them instructions on how to do them, and they don't charge you extra for that! I had kind of the same set up in one area... I'm so mad I didn't get pictures but this is the inspiration. I had about 2 dozen different sizes paper lanterns and paper poms that hang  the same as the flowers shown.

@JBMarch - That would be absolutely beautiful!!  I hope anyways, cause its the same plan I have in mind....haha The thing is, I don't think they are going to give me Castaways.... So, I think I am going poolside... so - nowhere to hang from... I saw some photos of maybe some lattice overhangs on the sides... Not sure - Guess I will just bring the stuff and hope for the best...  It seems like there is a LOT of hoping for the best!

Bride2B that is great that they were able to sort that out. I'm 5 weeks away and Cristina was my coordinator. I been nervous because I haven't heard from them in 3 weeks but I am taking deep breath and trying not to stress, lol. I wish a fun and safe trip. Enjoy every moment and congratulations!!

@MAYROSE. Thank you for your wishes and DO NOT hesitate to call them and be persistent if you do not hear from them. It's your wedding and their job is to coordinate, answer your questions, and ease any anxiety that we may have as brides. Wishing you a smooth and easy-going five weeks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
