"New Resort Opening May 1 2011" NOW LARIMAR ~ PUNTA CANA

Recommended Posts

AshaJ, welcome!  Don't stress! It all works out.  I know I started stressing last month for sure with two months to go. I started thinking about the very few weekends I have to get everything done!  My wedding date is April 17th. So far they are offering them $100 to downgrade. I think that is about what they paid to upgrade, but still annoying.  My worry now is that they will be in another part of the resort far away from us.

Apparently they are not doing any "private" receptions in any of the sit down resturants anymore.  At least that is true for the peak months.  They say you can do non private at 6:00 or 9:00 and that they can non guarantee that your group sits together.  They also do not give you the menu that comes with your package.  Have the reason we are doing the Divine package is so our group gets the platinum dinner, so we wanted private.  They would give you a menu from what that particular rest. serves that is set.  Sooo, depending on how many people you have coming I guess you could chance it.

Asha to answer your question, we are handing out our bags the day after arrival.  We are a fairly small group, only 17 of us.  There are only 9 bags to hand out so I figured I could make it to each guest.  We know we will be taking more luggage than we are allowed, we are lucky in that we have family leaving from Denver with us and they have offered to carry it for us. I imagine we will have 5 checked bags total.  But we are going to be there for 2 weeks as well!

Sommer-I need to do my tanks as well.  Do you guys have Hobby Lobby's up there? I know I have seen some iron on stuff there before.  It may not say bride but you could use glue that holds up in the wash with regular stones?  That is what I was thinking about.  I hope you have Hobby Lobby, I find it so much better than Michaels.

Greeting and congrats to all tbe future brides.... My name is Tia and my fiance and I are getting married at The Now Larimar in Punta Cana DR on October 8, 2012. We have a wonderful destination wedding specialist by the name of Amarjit with Give Me A Break Travel (amarjit@givemeabreaktravel.com) she is very informative and attentive towards anything relating to our wedding plans. She did have issues getting into contact with Mercy in the wedding coodinator department, however we have gotten that all squared away. So far we have paid for our flights, made a deposit towards our stay at the resort, and paid our deposit on The Now To Eternity Wedding package. I don't feel as though their packages offer enough perks for the price and I've sen the prices of what their videographer charges and I think its outrageous. I'm hoping by the time if our wedding hopefully someone in our wedding party knows how to properly record our ceremony. If anyone has been there before or already gotten married there would you please send me some pictures of the various areas where the felonies actually take place? I've requested this from the WC but I haven't received a response yet. I'm also really concerned about the hair/make up stylist and I have requested a copy if some work from their portfolio. my email address is tiamsavage@gmail.com and my travel dares are from Oct 4, 2012 til Oct 14, 2012

Hi Ladies,

I got married at Now Larimar on January 28, 2012. I would love to help answer any questions you may have. It sounds like some things have changed since when I was even there, but I'd love to help as much as I can as I know how stressful it was for me to get answers.

Overall, my wedding day experience was amazing! From the start of the ceremony at 4pm to the end of the night, everything went off without a hitch. Prior to that, it was quite stressful because I think Cristina was so overwhelmed with the weddings, that she forgot to do a couple things (like steam my dress). That stressed me out a lot, but my good friend who was attending my wedding and who also did a destination wedding in the DR, told me not to worry. That the wedding coordinator works best on the day-of aspects. Which was so true. Once I walked down the aisle, the rest of the day was absolutely perfect. We got married on the beach and had our reception at the relaxing pool.

My advice to everyone is to ask lots of questions and be as pointed and clear as you can be. I know there are a couple of things that I should have asked differently to get a better idea of what was going to happen.

Cristina seemed genuinely and sincerely happy to help and wanted everything to be perfect for us. I really think that she was overwhelmed (as it was only a few weeks after Cristina had left). She truly cared but she just couldn't get all of the pre-wedding aspects together.

Just know that your wedding day should go off just as you want it. There most likely will be stress leading up to it, but for me it was all exactly what I had asked for. If you want more information or have specific questions, please feel free to email me at traxler.t@gmail.com.

I bought some tanks from walmart, they were $6, what a steal! I'm going to put the names on them this wkend. I will post a pic once I'm done, along with my oot guest bags i've been meaning to post. Still trying to figure out my centerpieces, I will be bringing everything myself although when we signed our contract the flower centerpieces were supposed to be included so hopefully with my proof I can still get them.....here's to hoping! 36days to go!!!!

You guys have truly been an inspiration.  My wedding isn't until July and I think I'm about ready to shoot myself.  I guess the face of knowing that I'm not there to see everything and how it's set up is a bit scary.  But this Blog has truly calmed me down.

Is anyone having their reception at the Eclipse Night Club since the restaurants are no longer an option?

hi ladies, Im getting married april 10,2012, trying to stay calm but I still havnt even planned anything yet, was told by wc that I would be contacted mid March to start sorting thing out. Im sure evrything will work out but geez this is stressful!

my question is´.... do any of you ladies know what photo package is included in the highest $3000 wedding package

ive tried emailing the larimar resorts photographer but no response, was planning on going with the middle wedding package and getting an outside photographer but if the next wedding package has a decent photo package would rather spend $800 to ungrade than spend $500 plus day pass for just a photographer. but need to figure out soon so I have time to book a photographer if ineed to.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
