"New Resort Opening May 1 2011" NOW LARIMAR ~ PUNTA CANA

Recommended Posts

JB, ha ha , sorry I knew those were Moni's colors.  Who knows why I put your name there! I am in love with your colors too. I agree, orange is amazing.  My FI wants orange-its his fav.  We will see. Those prices are amazing for Ocean Blue, it seems almost too good to be true! The reviews seem really good too.  They may be a strong second for a lot of people, including me.

DeeSanders, thanks so much for the info on Holy Week. Never even thought about that, but I bet you are right. I am giving it one more week and if they don't start giving me some solid answers on group pricing I am taking my business elsewhere. I hate to do it, but I have been trying to get this info for 6 weeks! I would love for this group of girls to stay together with the NOW too, its been so much fun getting to know everyone!

Moni, those dresses are awesome. Are all your girls going to wear the same ones? I really like the idea of mixing it up based on each girl's style.  I really love both so it would be hard to choose. I am not having any BMs.  Trying to keep it as simple as I can!  Try calling Phil-he is out of town three weeks of every month right now so doesn't respond to email. He has a secretary who answers his business line and she can give you info.  The number is 1-888-864-9832. Hope that helps.

Hey ladies, so many post since I have been on!! :)

Moni, I LOVE the second BM dress the best and I love the color!! If I were to contrast I would prob do the ivory also. My FI and I are doing four colors.. haha girls in Brown Dresses with a Tiffany blue sash, pink and orange flowers with a tiffany blue wrapped ribbon! The guys in linen pants and a brown Guayabera :)

JB, I sent you the info that my TA sent me about the Barcelo as far as wedding information. The wedding packages are totally different then what they are online and VERY cheap for a bunch of things :) I am in the same position as you JB, I am waiting to here on group rates before I decide on either but I love both of the resorts and I agree with Moni that we just need to go with our gut and it will all work out! :)

AcutieRN, hang in there, it will all workout for you :) I would definately be a little angry though if it was taking them forever to get back to me also... hopefully Monday!! :)

Orange is my fave color, too! So I got a group rate that's in contract and all I have to do is sign... It's $519 pp for 4 nights double occupancy for their deluxe rooms... any add'l nights after is $120. This includes tax and transfer. Every 6th room is free, they will average the amount of nights stay (double occupancy)... So if guests are staying 3,4,5,7 nights they will average it and if it's say 5 nights is the average we get a credit of $1000-$1100 per room ( it's less taxes and transfers) so if I get 20 rooms, I can get about $3000 credit for the 3 rooms that'll end up for free. The credit we can use for ourselves, but we will probably just distribute the discount among all our guests. Okay let me try to do the math here! haha... So I'll try to make it simple if I book 20 rooms based on double occupancy so 40 guests for 5 nights it'll come out to $564 pp. I think. Hmmm... I think I'm in! lol.

Deesanders,

Did you get a rate for Barcelo yet? OMG I need to stop looking at places!!! haha

Hey Ladies!!  I booked my date at the Now Larimar. February 17th 2012 at 5pm!!  I am able to get the promotion with the 6th room free through Apple.  I am getting a contract written up with Apple right now and I have two weeks before I have to make any deposit with Apple.  I am going to hold 25 rooms and 40 spaces on charter air.  I have to put down $50 a person to hold air and hotel for my guests until they call my TA to book.  This way I do not have to have everyone hurry up and call.  The money that I put down ($2,000) will be credited back to me once each guest calls to hold their space.  I will be requiring guests that book through my TA to get the Price Match Guarantee.  If you book a group every guest has to get the Price Match otherwise no one gets it.  I am just going to have her add it to the price that way it isn't even an option.  If you do hold air and hotel I found out that until each guest books the Price Match Guarantee is not eligible???  This is why I am not putting any money down yet.  I have a source that tells me that Apple is working on their 2012 rates as we speak and is hoping to have them up the first week in May.  I am also trying to get it in Contract that I get the cheaper rate since I am already putting a deposit down on all of my guests.  I have till Sept. to release rooms and air that have not been booked without penalty.  Make sure you triple check the Group Contract to guarantee lowest rates!!  I am in peak season so my rate is $1388 for four nights with charter air and hotel.  I am hoping this will drop a little in the next two weeks!  Fingers crossed!!

sarahgn4t,

sorry i didn't reply on ym, i didnt see it right away... she works for travel impressions but she doesn't handle groups, so what i shopped around for the best group rate. the group rate i got was from was from sand and sun vacations. i guess your rate just seem a lot because of the airfare? and that you are at peek time. $166 pp does that include tax and transfers? i was told that for ttransfer alone it's $40 pp, i don't know how your breakdown works out though, but i still think it's reasonable... i think everybody here hope that the airfare would go back to $300-$500, we're all crossing our fingers! let me know if you want the info for the sand and sun lady...

Hey girls... crazy weekend!  Airfare is booked 587pp including taxes....American Airlines (non-stop) flights

Decided to just go for it, I don't see rates going down to much by November...

AcutieRN, I bought the shoes at Davids Bridal $25.00.  Does anyone know of any bridal or online bridal shops that discount & ship dresses.

JB...that's not too bad of a quote for next year....Whatcha thinking??

Congrats!!! Sarahgn...Another bride booked! WooHoo!!!

I want to order my BM dresses and in the store there $240, but online i'm seeing them for 150-160 through online discount bridal shops.... (I'm skeptical to order them online, but it's such a big difference) Do you girls know of any that are recommended that have good reviews?

Moniwoni,

$587, that's not too bad for non-stop considering I've seen prices close to $800! We're still weighing out the pros and cons, but would definitely update you once we make a decision... I think the quote I got is the best, now we're just figuring out if we can get enough guests to actually stay atleast 5 days to get that rate. It's really hard to depend on the people that would actually book and for how many nights, and when we have the Ocean's rate on the  table that's guaranteed... I don't know it's driving me crazy! But I'm sure we'll figure it out...

Those online places, are they authentic or knock-offs? Most of those sites that show designers cheaper are usually knock-offs, I don't know if that matters to you... There's a whole thread on here about it. Another site you can check is http://www.netbride.com/ they have all types of designers and they guarantee the cheapest price.

Hope all you ladies had a good Easter! cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
