HI I am new to this forum and so far it has been tons of help. We started to book at NOW jade in Rivieria Maya but it seems that a lot of my guest are nervous to go because of everything that is going on. So on that note I love the NOW resorts and I would love to get married in Punta Cana. Any saving tips that I need to know about??

We plan on arriving Monday April 9, then staying 'til the next Monday. We are still debating on staying another week for a honeymoon or just save it for the anniversary nights. We have a 2 yr. old son and him traveling without us is kinda making me nervous, haha. The only reason I'm a little far ahead on details, if you remember, is because I was set to book Now Jade. Literally about to sign contracts when our family decided that they don't want to travel to MX. Anyway here is a link to one of my ispiration board so you can have a feel for my color ideas.

Ok the chairs, I'm actually picking to pay the extra money to have those white foldong chairs (you see them in the picture of a sample wedding on the Now website). And another option is the tiffany chairs, I think they have those in 3 different colors.

Thanks JB, I just recieved your email. I was in the same situation with the NOW JADE also but I was trying to keep our guest budget to max 1000 per guest but I guess a couple more 100 for safety shouldn't be a problem right?

 

I am using destinationweddings.com and I emailed her this morning about switching over to NOW LARIMAR and I haven't heard anything back from her but I am hoping that she gives me the same deal as the resort though we aren't looking to get married till August 2012, so I don't know if prices with go up or down for that??

Hey Ladies,

I can't believe the difference in price already from this year to next year.  (maybe the airfare will go down and it will all equal out).  I met with the TA on Friday to go over details I thought should be listed in the contract & now I'm ready to block 30 (rooms & sign contract)  She's waiting to hear back if everything is STILL avail (WTF)  I thought everything was avail and we were discussing some of the loose strings....... Never thought this would be so stressful.   I was thinking of sending our wedding website out with all the info as our save the date & then send the wedding invitation about 6 months prior.  Any suggestions??   Were supposed to book Nov 12th so the time is of the essence.  Just want to be locked in alreadylol

JB I love the look of the nicer chairs too.  I guess I'll decide that when I know how many guests will be having.  I want to have my reception poolside & that pic is awesome!

As for the dress you only do this once (so you want to feel yourself) in your gown something that's beautiful but brings out you.  If it's a little more $ and it's going to make you happy in the end then DO IT!!

 

Also who is this photographer that your talking about?? photophil  I need deets...lol

Nice to hear back from you! I think the wedding website as your STD is a great idea, especially since you are under a year as far as planning goes. Did you get their special promo for the free every 6th room? Any other incentives to booking that many room? Like a welcome dinner or something with the group?

 

That's what I hate about waiting, because they take forever to respond that I feel like by the time I send in my booking info they wouldn't have the date/ rooms available! I definitely feel you on that! haha, but it looks like your on the way to finalizing though... it'll all work out for you!

 

I think Photophil has a thread here somewhere, I've come across it once or twice, but check with acutie on this... she would have more details since she's been in contact with him.

 

Oh and the chairs, see if you can swap it from what is provided on the package? maybe even pay for the difference? they're $12/ $15 per chair folding/ tiffany chair! AAAHHH! Rip-off!

 

Omg I want a reception poolside also! If they send you pics of how they would set that up can you share? please?  Thanks again for starting this thread! I was soo jealous of all the other brides with their resort threads on here! haha

I think August would be a drop in prices compared to our rates since it's considered hurricane season. I think, that's what it says on my handy-dandy DR app. lol.

Yes please if you find the link let me know. Anywhere we can save cost I am excited about. At least they are starting out by letting you switch around different items. On the other forums of the NOW JADE AND SAPPHIRE, they aren't letting you switch anything so before they change if you better ask quick.

 

As for the chairs let me know if they let you swap because I would like to swap to the prettier chairs as well but I don't really want to pay the extra cost.

 

Has anyone found out who they are going to use for the DJ or Photographer?

 

I am so excited to start planning and get the date set in stone. The resort has already emailed me back 3 times today.

That sight is amaze!  I want soooo many things....The sashes are a no brainer.  I love the tabel runners, the lanterns, the cake toppers, the sparkle sand &  the preserved palm fans ( do u think you can travel through customs with preserved flowers?)
