Hello ladies! This is the very crazed and stressed Valerie here. I'm currently in the final throws of packing because our flight from the UK is TOMORROW MORNING!!!! Yup, everything is in the cases but I'm still printing out room stuff, double checking I haven't forgotten anything, triple checking really. 

 

Everyone on here please pray for Sarah and me that the weather will be beautiful!!! I've been seeing that they actually seem to saying rain. And that is unheard of for this time frame. I will not be happy if there's nothing but rain. Which is now my only worry - rain! 

 

Other than that, it's all said and done. Just wait to hear my lengthy review once back.

ladies, just breathe, try not to let anxiety take over. I understand its hard...but just try. Take Benadryl for your flight to knock you out. Oh before i forget , can you snap few pictures of how u packed ur centerpieces and decor stuff?please...

I will be thinking abt both of you, so no rainnnnn please, and will ask weather angels for a sunny day.

Oh fyi. aks WC for your anniversary cerificate free stay ASAP, cause i know that Claribel never end uo giving it to one of the brides.

I was shopping for photographers and looked into HDC.  If you want my opinion (as a professional, accredited photographer) even though I haven't looked into many others from the DR, he's a local guy his work is great & prices are amazing.

The best part is, about mid way through you really get a good idea of what the fountain ceremony area looks like.  What I noticed is that the wooden walkway does not go the entire length of the fountain (Like I assumed).  Just thought I'd share.

good luck to all the brides with upcoming weddings at NOW, if you could please give us a review after you're back and post some pictures, I would really appreciate it. My wedding isnt until November, but I want to be as prepared as I can, so I dont stress myself out days before the actual big day.

Hey girls,

I have not been on here in forever.  I have been planning as much as I can and think I have almost everything ready to go.  I am frustrated beyond belief (nothing new as many of you who have been here a long time know) at the lack of response from anyone at this resort.  I had no idea Claribel was gone and have not heard from one person from the resort in over 5 months. I have sent numerous emails, at least weekly, asking for information regarding what reception venues are available and examples of decor. My wedding is now 7 weeks away and nada.  I have a confirmation letter, but apparently when Claribel left she took that information with her. I had my TA get on things and she sent 13, yes count them, 13 emails to Christina and the resort before she got a response.  She even went as far as to phone the GM of the resort. The response was that the time I had booked was no longer available on my date.  I finally said that is it, I want out. I can't take anymore.  Magically as soon as I said that they said they could accomodate my date but had to push my time back an hour . That in itself is annoying because one of the reasons I picked this resort is that at the time they were promising only 1 wedding a day so things didn't get overbooked.  Apparently that is no longer the case. I was then told that I would hear from someone shortly to start making plans.  Guess what, nothing!!!!! That was a couple of weeks ago.

hi acutiern my wedding is about 8 weeks away and well i dont have any confimation and have been told i have to change my date from the 20th to the 18th but the 18th isnt meeting the requierment of 3 week days of being in DR so i just emailed to see wtf is going on, and if i have to change my date again i am going to be very mad!!!

where is everyone having there reception??? i want a private dinner so beach or ballroom but i was thinking the ballroom will look to much like a conference room and so blah... does anyone have pictures of a beach recpetion and ballroom??

OMG Amy, thats horrible, what do you mean they are having you change the date?that is not right. Contact Juana at the concierge department, she is on FB, and she will help you with hopefully getting a hold of someone. I actually am starting to get nervouse my self. I booked Oct 8, and have confirmation letter from Claribel. But when i checked the calendar online, it said partially avaialable,which is fine. But i requested the 4.30 ceremony. I have since emailed Christina a week ago, to dowble check, ang got nothing. Im sure she is super busy and trying to take care of the mess that Claribel left. Im actually going to call them Monday...because the airline schedule will be posted tomorrow and i know ppl will start booking, so i want to be 100%.and yeah Acutie, i dont think they are doing 1 wedding/day. I think its more like 2/day
