Hi Alysia :)

I'm a future GPLH bride too.  We're getting married May 23rd.  And I can't tell you how crazy and fun it has been planning everything.

Just read your comment about flowers.  You can definitely change the flowers - they may charge you for the difference though depending on what is it you prefer.  Just communicate your request to your wedding coordinator and explain what it is you want.

I know right, i was thinking of doing my own hair and do a few test runs first here in canada.

as for make up i've been talking to a few people and i think i might go to the bay or sephora and have them teach

me a few make up tips and ticks. i would just do a few test 1st and if all fails i will prob have to get a make up artist.

I'm using the resort spa for both hair and makeup... any reason you ladies arent considering the spa????

It's kind of expensive but I'm hoping that the stylists there will know what the weather is like and be able to do my hair (VERY curly!!!) in way that wont get all frizzy and fall out from the heat/humidity. I'm thinking half down and off to the side. Same kinda thing with makeup.. im afraid if I do it myself ... which i do for everything... it will just run and sweat off.

I'm planning on booking a whole spa package for mani/pedi hair and makeup... that way I get pampered all morning and if anything messes up it wont be my fault! LOL

this is the quote i got from her.

"Ok the total cost would be 210 for hair @70 each and 130 for the 2 bridesmaids makeup (with lashes)..@65 each then the base rate of 180 dollars includes your makeup and our travel to your resort. That's a total of 520 dollars for all 3 ladies makeup hair and our travel"

i'm still thinking about it but i will most likely get her to do my make up and hair. My Bridesmaid's said they can do their own.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
