We are expecting about 40 people....I never thought so many people would be able to make it! Tomorrow it'll officially be just one year away! Time is going to FLY!!!!! We now have 24 people booked, it's so fun getting the update from our TA at the end of each day with who booked!

That's awesome Katie! My wedding is before yours and despite people having had the trip info for over a month and a half now, no one has booked despite telling me that they will.  How is it that I know so many procrastinators?

People just get caught up in what they are doing. I have some that are even just keeping the money in their savings (they just saved their tax returns for the trip) and they want to leave it in the account so that it can make money for them throughout this year. I can at least respect that. It is very frustrating though! Makes it hard to plan OOT bags and such when you really have no clue who is going.

We put a pretend deadline on our information :) We gave them a full month of guaranteed rates and told them we wouldn't know how prices would change after the deadline. So far, it's worked out great!! Of course, we do know how prices will change....but we figured all they needed to do in order to book was a $150 deposit per person, so we pushed them to just get that done!

tkuzma- As I have said before I am in the same boat. I think only 1 person has called out TA to inquire about booking. I spoke with our wedding planner/TA a couple days ago and she suggested that she would send out an e-mail to out guests introducing herself and encourage to book soon. She also agreed to call our guests who don't have e-mail. She will also be keeping a list for us of confirmed guests!

I am really thankful that she is willing to do this and it takes the stress away from me :). Perhaps this is an option for others as well?

I think we should definitely make a May 2013 thread! We can see what people  are doing in the planning process and gather information that is useful to all of the May brides, such as weather/ sunrise/ set times, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
