Any other 2013 Brides??

Price depends on location where you are from. I am not sure about from Ontario. For me (Alberta), Mexico most places is slightly cheaper than Dominican, but it really depends.

Some brides have pricing for the time you are looking at. Mine isn;t until July, so I have to wait a bit longer.

And WELCOME!!!!

I actually got engaged a few months ago, but wasn't able to dedicate my time to planning/etc. until now. I just went to a wedding show this past weekend, and can tell you that it absolutely justified my decision to have a destination wedding! I know I will load myself up with DIY stuff, and certain things with the destination wedding as well....but could not even imagine how consumed my life would be if I had to plan a wedding here at home (Kingston, Ontario).

We have decided on late March/early April 2013. We are flexible on date as we want to choose a time that is most affordable for our guests. We are thinking Dominican, as it seems more affordable than Mexico...not sure if this is right? I'm considering Dreams La Romana, and Gran Bahia Principe La Romana...Dreams seems to be more money than the Gran....we will see. I did however, fall in love with Dreams, and there is soooo much info on this site from fellow Dreams brides....

Does anyone already have pricing/dates booked for 2013? I am just starting to contact travel agents etc, and hope I can find one that can get me pricing ASAP. I am starting to seriously feel stressed now that we have made the decision to do this, that I can't get pricing anywhere....I know I have a year and two months....but still! lol.

Congrats to all of my fellow 2013 ladies!

Alicia

Hi Ladies

I am a Feb 2013 bride and wait feels like forever!!! We are planning on going to the Barcelo Resort in Riviera Maya Mexico. I am nervous though because I have never been there but I know people that have and they say great thing especially about the palace which is where we are planning to go. I am so thankful that I found this site, it has give  some great ideas and even some great advice already!! Some of my friends think that I am crazy for already starting my planning and working on my DIY stuff, but I figure that by starting now I can fix any mistakes with the DIY and not feel to rushed with the designing which I love.

Thank you so much for the website information! I already made mine and I love it, it has been a helpful tool with my guests as well. We have narrowed our search down to Hard Rock and Majestic Colonial. (Dreams locations were out after many things I did not like).  I will let you know what we choose. We will be meeting with out travel agent in a few weeks to go over both places and then we will get going on the contracts. Getting excited for January 2013! Now I just have to start with the DIY things....sigh...this year is going to fly by I have a feeling. ;-)

Plus I wanted an all-inclusive. I am working with a TA with Wright and she just got me the actual costs for the rooms and its a little bit more than dreams but not enough difference for me to reconsider. For the website I did weddingwire.com super easy and easy to personalize.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
