ROR Brides (Riu Ocho Rios)

Recommended Posts

My Fiance and I are considering the Riu for a December wedding. I like the idea of the beach bonfire.  Does anyone know if there is a cap on the number of guests you can have to have  the bonfire? Or what the extra cost is to one?

SO i finally finished reading to 72 pages, too me several days and all while i was at work, LOL.  the blog is soooooo helpful with everything. I was set on going with beaches for my wedding but it seems like it will be cheaper for me and my guests if I do it at Riu ocho rios.   I am planning on having my wedding on August 16, 2014.  But My Fiance in in the Airforce so I cant book a date just yet until he knows for sureconfused.gif. I saw that DANIELLE03 was having problems after booking her wedding date so that is making me nervouose even though its so far!

BUT just wanted to say thank you to all you guys for keeping me informed! idea.gif

Danielle, do you know if the $10.50 pp (for the plantation) applies, if you have 80 guests?

I chose the caprice package and it allows up to 40 ppl. Does this mean i pay an additional $10.40 for the extra 40 guests?

I am THINKING its anything over your package amt 40 ppl so I would think its 10.50 per person over the 40. BUT id check and get confirmation from the resort. apparently keisha isnt there any more and its a new person who took over. Im still waiting to hear back on my questions.

Make sure you keep ALL correspondence from them and bring it with you to the resort, soemone else had posted that and i think its great advice! that way you have it all documented..

Hello ladies. I have been reading this thread for a few days now. I'm excited. I just confirmed my wedding in ROR for April 5 2014. I'm behind with sending out my save the dates but hope to have them sent out soon. Just wondering if anyone knows how much it cost fit the renewal of vows ceremony? I read another post where a lady said her and her husband were considering getting married in their home state but having the wedding in ROR and then using the Renewal of Vow package. I like that idea. My fiance has kids that won't bore able to join us in ROR so if we go to the courthouse first they can be involved and we would not have to worry about paperwork we would only have to fax over a copy of the marriage license. So does anyone know the first of the renewal of vows?

OMG!!! Keisha is gone now???  Wow, that is a bit disheartening...I REALLY hope the new person is aware of everything and will be on the ball.  I'm so glad I kept all of my correspondence with Keisha!!! Will be printing them all out and bringing them down when I go so there is no issues with pricing, etc.  I also noticed that you mentioned that the Plantation Restaurant booking is an additional $13 pp for open bar + bartender...but I was quoted only $10!  I would check into that if I were you as the $3pp does make a difference once you add it up!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
