I believe this is the newer one. There is a lot of useful information within the 48 pages. Just read a little bit at a time. You will usually find anything you are thinking of asking :)

You can probably just have your wedding all together at a off site location for less then what you will have to pay for the guests to come to the resort. I think their rule is a bit ridiculous as My fi has family in Jamiaca too. Thankfully I dont think there will be too much of a issue. They also have the option Of gtting a room at the resort, I think 4 to a room and they could split it. That way no day pass, and they can stay the night and have fun AND be apart of that 80 %.

But you could always just try and find somewhere off site all together to have the whole thing. ;/

I am having quite a lil dilemma...As much as I would love to Have my Ceremony and Reception at ROR it seems to be getting a little more and more difficult as far as guests. I am booked and confirmed at the ROR in July 2013. I opted to go with the free package and do upgrades. Now here is my lil situation!...lol...My husband is from jamaica. We are renewing our vows (14yrs) this year July. For the free package I can get the minimum 5 room bookings from guests the only issue is that I dont think 80% of my guests would be staying at the resort. Now I am up in the air. Because I would love to know if I can have my ceremony only at the resort and have my reception elsewhere. I am thinking The Ruins at the Falls in Ocho Rios. I always dreamt of having a DW but the 80/20 rule the hotel has... looks like it may be an issue. Has anyone just done the ceremony at RIU and reception elsewhere?...if so did you still have to pay the astronomical day pass of $80pp...Im just afraid of having over 40 people and having to be forced to pay thousands later on and it seems as though theres more and more fees with the resort...Can someone help shed a light?...Im hoping to be able to plan the ceremony at the resort and have my reception off grounds...Im trying to go the most economical way but any way I slice the cake it costs something I cant seem to find a middle ground.

Im actually in the process of looking elsewhere too...smh..I have contacted Tropical wedding to see if I can have my ceremony and dinner elsewhere , but her prices are over what Im paying for my entire renewal ceremony AND Dinner at the resort...either way Im trying to slice the cake the hotel is way cheaper...Prices can creep up rather quickly!..The whole booking rooms things is a nightmare as well as they want a night minimum booking...its so ridiculous... anyway to take so much more money...they make it damn near impossible...smh...still in the look out though...your lick you have heard from Keisha I sent her an email three weeks ago and I have yet to get anything back from her.

Yeah she has been responding to me pretty quickly! I would send her another email and just let her know that you are still waiting to her from her. I find she answers what she wants to answer. Some of my questions werent answered in my email She just answerd the ones she wanted lol

LOL, I did the same and then finally she answered me after 3 emails asking for a response and 3 weeks later --but it was only because my photographer I hired happens to know her and called her and asked her to get back to me LOL ....I love my photographer already!!  Good luck!

hi

we are looking to have our wedding may 2014

just a little confused about having a large group of guest and how charges apply?

i have about 40 guests travelling from the UK and will be staying at the resort and say 20guest from JA  which will need a day pass. so 60 guests in total

i understand that if you have 40 guest + we are forced to a private dinner which is fine because thats what we wanted, we also chose the caprice package which accomadates 20 ppl, does that mean we pay $67 for 40 guests all the whole 60 guests?

Also i have been trying to look for pictures of the ballroom terrance, pool side deck for the dinner and reception. if any of you have any can you please email chenandjay@hotmail.co.uk

so just so i have an idea of how the day will go, our wedding time is 1pm, dinner is ar 6.30-8.30, if we are having private reception would the dinner and reception be in one place rather then having to go from one place to another. i believe the reception also closes at 11. we want to hire a dj for the 2hours during the reception which is when we plan on doing the first dance and stuff.

so for 60 guest, private dinner and reception with hire of dj. how much do you think we will be looking at?

This would be a great help

hope to hear from you all chenandjay@hotmail.co.uk

Chen + Jerome

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
