ROR Brides (Riu Ocho Rios)

Recommended Posts

I used these message boards to ask questions.  I decided where my ceremony would be and reception location right away.  take this time to get into the message boards, look at pics and see which options you like.  When I reached the 2 month mark I had to let her know my final count and finalize my plans.  I wouldn't wait for her.  pick the ceremony and reception location.  Think about where u want to marry (on the beach, pond gazebo, beach gazebo)  also you reception location: Semi private dinner vs private reception and so on.  I have pics that I have complied from this site, contact me if you want me to share, I will try to help out as much as possible (when I return that is. LOL)

One question I had was who went to the dunns river falls for pictures? and could I see pics if anyone has some????

You really don't have to be doing anything.  That's the beauty of a DW.  I didn't really worry about much at all compared to some of the gals at other resorts and all of the extreme planning they were doing.  I decided that the place is beautiful enough and it's definitely not worth the stress.  Take it easy and you can definitely decide on everything when you get there.  Ours was the free ceremony and very, very laid back.  Our guests and us enjoyed it so much and we wouldn't do anything different.  I just knew going down there that I was not going to pay for any extras so our meeting with her was quick and simple.  Be laid back and enjoy it!!

we're back!!!

I will be posting my review this week ladies, I had a blast and feel free to ask an questions.  For dinner I would say Mamee Bay Steakhouse for the semi private.  I saw people book the private dinner at plantation (which has birds walking around where you eat during the day) and poolside (which is smaller than it looks) the beach party at seagrape (which is right under the stage area so your music may be hard to hear)

Hi Naomi Louise! You're getting married one week before me! 6 months out....

I just got white bedazzled flip flops from Payless. I have a long dress so you won't be able to see them really. Very comfortable. I might go shoeless for the walk down the aisle!

TO ALL ROR BRIDES OF THE PAST:  What kind of room did you get? Does anyone have any pictures?

I'm having so much trouble finding pics of the rooms that really show them. I booked an oceanfront junior suite, but I just saw a pic today from someone that went there in 2007 and it looks exactly like the normal room at the Riu I stayed at in Mexico! Also, ALL of my guests are booking the same room type as us and my sister of course has to book the best room possible, the Oceanfront Jacuzzi Suite. Dare I spend extra to get the Jacuzzi Suite instead?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
