I was just on the riu wedding website and under where the free wedding is it says that the price does not include the minister/judge fee nor does it include the marriage certificate, does that mean I would just need to pay that separatly or does it mean that this isn't a legal ceremony and more of a symbolic? If I am looking to do this legally do I need to start at the Classic package?

I'm new to this site, I will be getting married in ROR April 17th 2012! I just had a few questions. I am having a smaller wedding, should I go with the semi private dinner? Are the semi private dinners usually fairly private? Will I need to buy decorations for the room or bring my own or are any provided? I am going with the free wedding as my wedding will only have 15-20 people attending.

Another questions is how much am I looking at for a photographer? I see that a lot of you guys are saying they are super expensive but what is the general price for this? I am very new to this. What is the prices of the hotel photographer?

any information will be useful to me, no one seems to be responding much at the hotel.

Just got back from my wedding at ROR- AMAZING!! Any questions I would be more than happy to answer. As far as photographer, we had Stacey Clarke. She is AWESOME- professional, fun, reasonably priced. She will respond to emails nearly immediately. I felt so so comfortable with her and had no worries. She has a facebook and website page. I cannot say enough about her. SHe has different packages but will work with you on price! I highly recommend the "trash the dress"!

I loved the ROR!!!!

website is : staceyclarkephotography.com. she also has a facebook page.

I did the "free" wedding but added alot of extras so it certainly wasnt free. We did a private dinner at the plantation restaurant since we had over 50 people. you pay $500 for 2 hours for that. We also did a poolside reception which was awesome. That costs $15/per person to pay for the bartenders (normally this area is closed in the evening). also paid for steel drum band, and DJ services, and florist. I think everyone is best off with free pkg and then upgrade what you want. we didnt care about tshirts etc.and other things in upgraded packages.

Everything went super well...PERFECT!

I was married there in April and had 19 people.  We did the semi-private reception.  It was just fine.  There were other people in the restaurant but they weren't really near us so we felt like it was pretty private.  You have to bring any decorations you want for the reception.  A bit of advice, keep it simple.  You will have to have someone decorate the tables for you unless you luck out like I did and the waiter did it. (There weren't any other receptions in there that night so we had him all to ourselves)  He went above and beyond by decorating for us as well as getting our alcoholic drinks.  You typically have to get those yourself unless you drink the wine.  We did the free wedding as well and only paid for the minister and the extra guests for dinner.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
