Anyone have any home remedies for headaches or migraines?

Migraines are a tough one. There is no cute for them! I have suffered from them for YEARS.

I can tell you that light has a HUGE impact on migraines. So if you have one, def try to stay in the dark or turn off your light in your office at work.

Cheese ,onions, and red wines will trigger a migraine, too.

I see a chiropractor for mine bi-weekly. You may want to look into it if you still see no relief.

I find Excedrin Migraine works wonders!

I hope your Migrane is better by now!! I get migraines something awful!! I am 2 prevention medications, topamax and diprivan... I take both of those daily, and then when I get a migraine, I take pain meds. When I am home and get a migraine, I take my pain meds, put ice on my head, take my nausea medication, and lay in a dark quiet room.... When I get a headache that isn't so bad, I take excedrin migraine, I love that stuff!!!

I have been suffering from headaches as early as I can remember. It just seems to be getting worse with age... like my jaw throbbing is something totally new to me! I know this isn't normal.... hence why I need to see the doc ASAP. It may be stress, I got AF 2 weeks early too.

Shelley - I've had a sinus infection before and it was the worst pain I've ever been in. I'm hoping this isn't another one, that would be hell. But now that you bring that possibility up I've been very congested just in the morning. HMMM....

Migraines are the absolute worst to deal with - I've suffered with them since I was 4 years old & my son has also.

Melissa - if your jaw is bothering you too, it could be TMJ . . . causes a very painful headache just like a migraine. Definetely let the doctor know about the jaw pain as well.

Hope you get to feeling better soon!!!hug2.gif

My FMIL gets migraines fairly often and she has found that taking one Chlortrimeton (you can buy it OTC at the drugstore) when she starts to feel it coming on really helps. She puts it under her tongue to let it dissolve. Then she goes and lays down with a mask over her eyes. She may also take an advil too - not sure.

Hope this helps. Feel better soon!

OMG that would suck. I'm crossing my fingers - I hope that doesn't happen to me.

* on a side note: headache has been gone for 12 hours and I didn't take any meds.... thank goodness. i just hope it stays this way so i can enjoy the last day of the long weekend and not be a bum in bed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
