My wedding is in June 2011, (3 months!!) and I sent my invites out in January. So far, I have received ONE RSVP card! Albeit, I have confirmed 12 bookings so far, but still. There are many many people whom I have not heard a word from about whether they are going or not. My RSVP deadline is March 31st (less than a month), and not only that, I found a discount thing that they can use to give them $200 off but only until March 31st. I sent an email to my American family (I'm in Canada) and havent heard anything. My cousin is gradding high school 2 days before my wedding, but they all seemed still willing to show up the day before. I am getting frustrated like all of you. I don't plan on sending anything out (even though I think your postcard is adorable!). I can't spend more money on stamps, especially to the US! I plan on emailing then calling people soon, screw the formalities!! I just want to knwo how many people are going! I have been spending a LOT of time getting together favors and OOT bags with them in mind, I sure hope they are coming!

I know. I really don't see what is so hard about return prepaid RSVP card - for goodness sakes the stamp is already on it! ;) Oh, and I'm not sure I really buy the 'waiting for a cheaper price', since to be honest I think that if you were really keen on saving and booking your trip you would know that was your intention as soon as you received the invite, so you could still return it on time.

As for the favours, we aren't doing wedding favours, and instead have made a comparable donation to a cancer research hospital in honour of my father who passed away some time ago.

Its very frustrating! Unfortunately we cant change it!

Are you planning extra favors or anything as back up in case you have a bunch of last minute attendees? I would rather have more then not enough but then again i dont want to spend extra money for nothing!

wow....one RSVP :( thats horrible ! at least you have 12 booked....it would be nice to know either way if ppl are coming but seeing as i'm not the only one experiencing this i am guessing its normal for ppl to be lazy LOL i think i will do 10 extra and if that isnt enough well then i may have to do something different and smaler for some ppl at the end. I will be so busy come time of the trip that i dont want to have to be running around last minute but its not the worst of things that could happen :)

I hope your ppl come around for you and you can get your details sorted! I wish i had an email for everyone becuase it would be easier and faster but i will suck up the 20 or 30 bucks and do the postcards :)

I would have been pleased if people that knew for sure there was no way would have returned our RSVPs. I don't think we have gotten any back from FFIL's family. But they have all apparently booked hotel rooms for our AHR. We haven't even picked a venue or date for that. I should have listened to FMIL and not even bothered with sending them invites instead of trying not to offend.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
