the blood work thing is so that Mexico recognizes it as legal, which we would only need if we put down our actual wedding date there. my solution is to write some other day when we were in the states on the certificate, even if we sign it in Mexico, to have it legally recognized in the US.

it sounds too easy to be true, but that's all it really is, right? you apply for the certificate, wait, and then get married with someone who the state recognizes as ordanied and sign the certificate saying that's what happened.

fingers crossed it all works out (either way, no big deal, we'll just go see the JP after we get back).

YAY everyone...the countdown is on! 5 days woot woot!

Well I got my dress last night and let me tell you...its gonna be a b*tch carrying that sucker through the airport!! I am short and its big & long and very awkward to carry. I was walking to my car & was laughing to myself. How does everyone plan on carrying their dress?!?! Are you going to fold it over your arm or hold the bottom up somehow? I will have to figure this out! FI said he will not carry it because it is in a pink travel bag...

lol, My bag is turquoise. I plan to fold the bottom and steam it when I get there. I purchased a personal steamer so it wont be wrinkled.  I'm so excited and it me that I am 13 days/2 weeks away from being a married woman and this planning will be over....

I'm thinking of rolling mine...It is lace and I think if I roll it up quick before the flight and put it in my carry on and then take it out when we arrive a few hours rolled shouldn't hurt too much and I can also steam it when I get there. I'm trying to avoid the race through the airport to make my connecting flight while tripping over my dress!

I will probably drape mine over my arm. It already has lots of rucheing (sp?) and I am definitely getting it steamed when I get there. The only reason I dont want to shove it in to a suite case is 1) it's pretty heavy so if I can carry it on to the plane I dont have to mess with it again until we land in Mexico because we have a nonstop and 2) If they lose our luggage, I can go without some clothes, but not my dress!

Hi all!! I haven't posted here yet but I just want to say in advance...CONGRATULATIONS to all the May 2012 brides!!! We will be married on May 3rd, 2012 at Gran Bahia Principe Coba on Akumal Beach. Let's all pray that we don't get rain on our wedding day. Can I count on you ladies to do a "no-rain" dance for us? =) xx

Date twins!! Yay Congrats! I have been checking the weather everyday. Still says 60% showers all day :(

I think I will try to fold my dress over my arm too. Just realized the resort steams the dress for free so I guess I shouldnt worry too much about it. Definitely not throwing it in luggage. As TheWolferts said, you cant go without your dress! My luck they would lose it...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
