@tropiclover - I got my invitations done from Allurements by Rebecca. She did my STDs and bridesmaid cards too. Rebecca does amazing work & is so easy to work with. Definitely recommend her!

Hey ladies, I am crashing your May 2012 thread here (I am a June 2012 bride)!  Hope you don't mind! :-)  This is my first comment on BDW because I am still learning how to use it and feel a little overwhelmed with all of the threads and comments!  Anyway, I wanted to let Sharon99 know that I did order items for my OOT bags about 2 months ago and the medicine (excedrin) doesn't expire until 2013!  I bought individual travel boxes that contain two packets with two pills in each packet.  I bought them on cheaptravelsizes.com for 89 cents each!  I also found mini aloe lotion on there for about 75 cents each.  I don't think the lotion or aloe will dry up before the wedding, so you should be good to start buying those! I do, however think the hand sanitizing wipes will dry out because I ended buying those at the dollar tree (I found boxes of 24 packets for a buck so I couldn't pass on it) but when I tried one out, it was already sort of on the drier side!  Oh well!  I will likely end up buying more hand sanitizers closer to the wedding!  Hope this helps!

TropicLover...I got my invitations through Custom Paper Works.  I think the link to my review with pictures is in the signature...but Kate was fantastic.  She knew exactly what I wanted, made it happen, and I couldn't be happier!!!!

Is there anyone out there getting their invitations done?  I have a ton of Etsy favourites, but haven't contacted any of them or made a decision yet.  I know there are a lot of threads on this already, but if anyone has any current recommendations I'd love to hear them.

Tarrah22- Thanks so much. I was going to order from www.minimus.biz since they have some great pricing but could not find anything about exp dates. I will have to check out cheaptravelsizes.com & compare pricing now. Thanks again, good to know we have until 2013 to use the items.

TropicLover - if you want to see any pics of my stds, bridesmaid cards or invites just let me know.

Good luck with your decision. I am sure no matter who does them they will come out great!

No problem, Sharon.  I am going to check out minimus.biz now since you mentioned it!  I have been comparing prices and trying to gather items for my OOT bags all summer!  My Fiance thinks I am crazy, but when I look on here and see all of the other ideas and things people are doing, I always want more!!  I just ordered the actual bags last week from vistaprint and I am super excited about getting them! As far as invitations, I have just started looking into them. I love Rebecca's work, so I will likely end up going with her!  I'm sure you all have covered this already, but how many people are attending your wedding?  I am not even sure how many are able to make it to mine, but I am guessing around 40.  Not sure if I should be sending the invites to people who I know are not able to attend as they have told me already (we went std's to 120 people, but know many cannot attend already)??  Sorry so long!  Any help would be great!!

My FI thinks I am crazy too lol! He does not want to get involved with the bags or anything about them at all. I would not have known about them & all the other ideas if it wasnt for this site too! Its a lovehate relationship I have with BDW now that I see how much I can do!

You will have to let me know how the bags from VP are. I am still undecided on which ones to actually order. I keep going back & forth from the oriental trading hibiscus ones, random tote or drawstring back packs.

Wow 120 is a lot!! I sent out my STDs to 52 people. Some I knew were a definite no but I sent everyone the invites anyway in case they changed their mind. I wanted them to know the invite was still open. So far I have about 20 that have RSVP yes. BUT only 6 have booked....we shall see. The hardest part is knowing how many oot items to buy. I am sticking with 20 & hope I dont have to add more or have a ton left over! lol!

We have 28 people booked and 6 people for sure booking closer to the date...so a total of 34 that are for sure coming.  Everyone else won't know until later.  Some are waiting for deals and others can't commit that far in advance.  Either way I think we'll have 34 - 40 max.

We've had a couple of people write back saying they will not be able to attend so when it comes to our formal invites I won't be sending it to them.  It will save some money plus I don't want to make them feel bad by having to RSVP "no" a second time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
