Congrats!!! I haven't been on in quite sometime, been up to my ears in last minute details... Anyways, I am also using Reverend Myers, Rebecca Davidson and Focus Salon (review?)  I have worked with Rebecca beofre but how was your service and your hair/makeup?  I think I am working with hannah from Focus... How was La Dolce Vita?  Where is that?  We are looking for a Sunday night dinner spot...

So happy everything went well for you, congrats again!!!

Here is a run down of our vendors.

Welcome BBQ - catered by Chef John (local who has a BBQ on the public beach - he is amazing)

Rehearsal Dinner - La Dolce Vita

Wedding ceremony and reception - The Wharf

Planner - Mary Ann at Celebrations

Photographer - Rebecca Davidson

Minister - Reverend Donovan Myers

Rentals and Flowers - Celebrations

Hair and Makeup - Crispin from Focus Salon (came to my condo)

Accommodations - Harbour Heights (condos)

Transportation - Tropicana Tours

Welcome bags - brought beach bags and koozies from the US and went to Cost U Less and Blackbeards for snacks and beer

I will say, one of the most helpful things was that all of these vendors work together all the time and get along really well. They worked with each other on a lot of the logistics so I didn't have to get involved. For example, it rained all day on the day of the wedding, but Mary Ann worked with The Wharf to set up our "plan b" ceremony layout and Rebecca adjusted our timeline and let Mary Ann know where we would be. By the time I arrived at The Wharf, everything was set up and was absolutely perfect - all I had to do was walk down the aisle! And the sun came out right before we started!

I have to give a huge shout out to The Wharf. They were amazing! They have a private beach for weddings that is adjacent to a patio that is tented with white tents (that you do not have to pay for). They are very flexible and can accommodate as few or as many guests as you have. The service is excellent and the food is amazing. And there is no food and drink minimums. Celebrations brought in the rented tables, chairs and linens, as well as centerpieces. The website for The Wharf does not do it justice - it is the perfect beach-side wedding location and one of very few restaurants right on the water with private space. With such a pretty location and amazing views of the beach and water - you hardly need any additional decor! We were supposed to get married on the beach, but with the weather they moved it to the upper deck of the restaurant and it was still amazing - looking right over the water and the suns

Hey Ladies!!!!

I just got back from our destination wedding in the Grand Cayman! It was absolutely amazing!!!! Everything went off without a hitch. We couldn't have asked for anything better.

Rehearsal Dinner - The Grand Old House

Wedding Ceremony & Reception - The Grand Old House

Wedding Officiant - Rev. O. McLaughlin

Photographer - Aaron Rebarcheck

Hair and Make-up - Rock Gorgeous Hair

Accomodations - Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort

The Grand Old House was amazing. It is very different than your typical wedding venue on the Island. It is an old plantation house and they have done a fantastic job keeping the gorgeous original character. The food for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception was out of this world. There was not a single complaint (trust me there usually is from this group). Our wedding officiant was very funny and well spoken.

Our photographer, Aaron, was so accomodating. He came to our hotel the day we arrived to touch base. After the ceremony, he quickly brought us to 2 different locations right down the street to get even more shots.

Rock Gorgeous Hair.....not many people have heard about them....but they were exactly what I was looking for!! Tanja did a fabulous job on all of the girls make-up. Jeanie did wonders with our hair. She owns a salon in LA and has done weddings in Laguna Beach. I wanted Kim Kardashian hair. She did exactly that (well thank goodness to my clip in extensions).

Let me know if anyone wants pictures. I can e-mail them to you.

We have been here in Cayman since Thursday and it's been raining everyday . Our wedding was scheduled for today but we moved to Wednesday hoping the rain will settle by then. Just poured all day today!!! The Island is so quiet. Hardly any tourist. Maybe 1 cruise ship a day. Gas is $5.95 CI so over $7 US. sticker shock when we went grocery shopping. Seems everyone closes shop early on Sat. Nothing open Sundays except some restaurants. We've been staying at The Reef Resort East End and love it! 1bd with living room and full kitchen. All rooms are face the beach and are Just steps from the water. Fun thing to check out is the Shoe Tree on Southsound rd. I'm leaving my wedding flip flops there before we go home. Shoe tree is on Facebook for info. Watch out for the mass invasion of crabs on the road near the Blow Holes. You'll dodge at first then realize there is no way around them. So crazy! Praying for a peak of sun for Wed. Initially we wanted a sunset wedding with TTD tomorrow but now we probably won't see a sunset so going to do wedding in afternoon and do TTD same day. Rain or Shine!

We got married on the 24th.  Used Simply Weddings Cayman Islands.  You can find them on facebook with hundreds of wedding pictures.  Stayed at The Reef Resort booked using VRBO.com  Rained every day and even had to move our wedding from the 21st to the 23rd due to the storms.  Here is a photo of my husband and I at Smith's Cove.MariAbePhotography-8851.jpg

what a beautiful photo CaymanBride0512!

I have inquired with Simply Weddings to get information about using them for our April 2013 wedding. Sent an email through their website a few days ago and have not gotten any response.  In the mean time, I am in contact with Marina from Grand Cayman Beach Suites and also Molly at Creativent.  I am trying to get an idea of what a budget would look like for a wedding with about 20-25 guests.

Anyone on the boards getting married in Grand Cayman later this year or in 2013? This board needs another revival!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
