Laura:

Our rehearsal dinner was at Regazzi and Reception at Hemingways in June.

Since you are having your Reception at Luca I would suggest Hemingways.  Food was delicious and the patio is beautiful.  Interior is quite nice as well if you decide to eat inside.  Regazzi was good also but Italian and similar to Luca but definitely not as good as Luca!!!

Best wishes!!!

We still need to book the rehearsal dinner and are considering Hemingways or Ragazzi's....any feedback or thoughts on those?

Also, I started a new thread under "The Island Weddings" regarding Cayman OOT bags if you have any good ideas to share.

Thanks!

Not sure how I missed you!!! Yey for another GC Bride!!  Sounds very similar to what we are doing, family only, keep it small and intimate!!  The ritz does a lovely job from the pictures I've seen! So easy from Florida! Congrats!!!

We are flying over a few camera/videographers from home and will be married on 11.11.11!! We will have a morning ceremony (11:11 am) and a champagne brunch afterwards on the beach! We are going with a wedding package that the Ritz offers so it makes things super simple to plan from home in Florida!

Hi girls!!  Thanks for all your input on weddings in Cayman.  I am just starting to plan for a November 10, 2012 wedding.  I have looked at the Caribbean Club.....but it seems expensive for just the two of us to stay somewhere.  If you get married there and use Luca for the reception...do they give you a discount on the room?

Anyone know of a good videographer?

What is everyone's budgets for their wedding?  I am from Kansas City.....so EVERYTHING seems SOOOO expensive to me!!!  :)

Anyone look at Grand Old House for a wedding?

Thanks girls.....this help is tremendous!!!

I am getting married at Caribbean Club and dinner at Luca and no, there is no discount on the rooms.  Caribbean Club only has 3 bedroom villas so if you are looking for a place for just the two of you to stay it may be best to look elsewhere.  There are definitely cheaper options!  Can't help on the videographer, we are only using a photographer, Rebecca Davidson of Picture This.  Our budget is probably not applicable to your question as my FI and I have chosen to pay for a portion of Caribbean Club for our guests (without them knowing).  Grand Old House does a lovely job and you can do ceremony and reception on site.

My best advice to you....  check out crystalblueweddings.com  Danielle is an AMAZING, trustworthy resource as it is all wedding things on Grand Cayman!

Congrats on choosing GCM! They're aren't many of us on this board!!!

Hi there, We loved the idea of a family-style vacation, so Caribbean Club was perfect (3 bedroom, 3 bath villas) for us.  But there are a lot of beautiful options in the Caymans.  Crystal Blue Studio blog is definitely the place to start your research.

As for Caribbean Club there are no discounts for weddings, there are actually ADDITIONAL charges to have the wedding there.  There is a fee to use the beach for the wedding, and if you want to use the beach for any other events (welcome reception, beach parties) you need to reserve all three oceanfront villas (first, second, third floors).  These are their most expensive rooms (regularly $1100+).  You should call Danielle at Caribbean Club to find out if they will have any discounted rates, I know sometimes they run specials.

Luca is also beautiful and Laura is amazing to work with.  The have top notch menus to work with, but will require a minimum if you want to have the whole restaurant for your wedding (the only choice if you want traditional music & dancing).  The minimum is over $8000+.

All in all, it is not the cheap choice.  But they are amazing properties and will be forever memorable for your guests.  Like Starfish0512, I paid for my guests' rooms to help them with the costs of attending.  That might be something you should consider if there are certain people that you absolutely want there but that might have difficulty with the cost of the Caymans.

Yes, our wedding is right around the corner -- the freaking out has officially commenced LOL.

I'm flying my photographer in, her name is Julie Sterling http://www.juliesterlingphoto.com/ or http://juliesterling.wordpress.com/

She came highly recommended from a close friend and I loved her work.  I will make sure to post photos and write about my lessons learned : )

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
