We haven't started to book yet, just have rooms and seats set aside. We have about 130 on our list but not sure how many will come, we figure half forsure maybe more. Personally, we aren't doing OOT bags because we wont be able to afford it with so many guests (hopefully) so we are doing just koozies as a wedding favor for everyone, easy to transport and not too expensive. I haven't started to think about meeting up yet...Im going to give a time line of the wedding day in our invites though so they know for that day.

We are going to Sandos Playacar Beach Resort and Spa.

I had close to 160 people attend our wedding at CdM!!!  It was TIRING!!  I am completely lagging in compiling my list of insights/suggestions but by far the hardest thing was juggling time intensive tasks (like putting welcome bags together) when we had so many guests having fun at the hotel!  I really wish I had shipped more stuff in advance rather than spend that time running around to save $.

  • 4 weeks later...

We have 128 booked so far and are expecting 150ish at Cabo Azul in San Jose del Cabo. As far as meeting up goes, we are having a meet and greet on Thursday night (our wedding is on Saturday).  All of our guests are staying at the hotel, so I'm sure everyone will be together at the pool and bar during the day.

We are thinking of putting a six pack of Coronas tied with ribbon, custom koozies, and a welcome letter in each room instead of OOT bags.  Our favors probably will be a little pail filled with margarita jelly bellies and a drink umbrella (this will also be how people find their table) or

We are not including everyone in the rehearsal dinner on Friday -- it's just too expensive.  We're just having family members and the wedding party attend (that's 60 people!).

Thanks for creating this thread!  I was beginning to think that we were the only ones having a big DW!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
