January 2012 prices

Recommended Posts

Surprisingly, most of the rates were higher than I expected. $1800 - 2200 per person. My planner did manage to find a quote for the Ocean Coral & Turquesa at $1600 for May (however it's over Mother's Day 2012).  That's the lowest one she managed to find and I have a little over a week to finalize with a deposit.  I've been engaged and looking at rates since Christmas 2011 so I'm totally going to book it because I really don't think I'll find something more reasonable.  Also with booking incentives I may be able to decrease the cost per person by $50 - 100 depending on the number of people who book through her.

Hi ladies im new to this thread but i am getting married at ocean coral & turquesa in april of 2012! I have booked a majority of my rooms through having a membership with the hotel but i have over 30 guests who are booking through a TA and she is having them wait until fall as to that is when the rates are dropped to a more reasonable rate. My Fiance and I travel to mexico 3 to 4 times a year and wait until about 4 months befor to buy plane tickets because they also drop in that time, but dont wait too long if you want direct flights.

Hey Ladies,

I am in the same boat! My FI and I had originally picked February.9 2012. Our reasons for picking that date were simply hoping it would be the off season for tourism (we were wrong ha ha) So our date had no real meaning to us. I had gotten 2 price quotes from a local TA in Alberta and they were both 1800-2000 per person which far exceeded our expectations. We were hoping to be able to get a package for around 1500 per person.

We have decided on Dreams Tulum. I was on itravel2000.com looking up prices and they have prices on package vacations for October which range from 1100-1700 (nights, rooms vary) and this has really made us seriously consider changing our date!

I feel going without a TA might be a better way to go as well. Everyone can pick their duration of stay, their flight times and they can do it on their on. Having booked previous vacations through itravel2000 with no problems I think most of our guest's would be able to navigate the site and booking.

I am concerned in regards to weather though! Ive read some information that states hurricane season ends around september and some of said it ends in November. Have any of you ladies been to Mayan Riviera during October?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
