Ladies, could someone tell me what email adress you used to contact wedding coordinator at Riu?the link that i have found and emailed to was something like rioweddings.com... they got back to me with packages, but it is an agency that does all the weddings in Rio resorts(DR, Mexico, Jamaica). I dont really want to deal with a middle men.

oh and BTW 2yrs ago we stayed at Rio Bambu, and there was a lot of brides from Palace. There is also a restaurant outside at Rio Bambu i believe its called carribian steakhouse, right on the water.Where i remember seeing wedding dinners taking place. It was awesome!

Awesome news!  You won't be disappointed!  Michael was great to work with, he took amazing photos and had everything printed and back to us at the hotel 3 days later!  The coffee table book is fantastic, everyone loves it and I love showing it off to friends and family!

Congrats to all those who have booked your date!! I have booked mine for May 2012!! :) I'm starting to really plan now.... waiting for group rates from the travel agent.  I heard that the best times to get rates is 6-8 months before the wedding date.

skygirl - try emailing Daniela at dsandoval@riu.com  She's the RIU Sales Exec and has been great in answering all my questions. Once you confirm a date, she will help you through the process and then link you up to the wedding co-ordinators.

ablj209- hi! congrats on your wedding!! I am also looking for a photographer. I really want someone who is unique and has unique ideas for poses and stuff. Would you say Carribean Emotions were really great? Do you have pictures you can share? Also, where did you have your reception dinner? We were thinking of the Steakhouse...but I looked at the menu and i worry it's not enough food as we have big men with big appetites coming ;p

jenthony - Caribbean Emotions was fantastic! He was very creative and had us doing some funky poses (we love one that he called Peek-a-Boo).  If you have any ideas that you want, just let him know and he'll make sure you get the shot!

We had our reception at the Steakhouse..  There was plenty of food for us and remember, if the guys are still hungry, the RIU offers 24hr room service and there are snacks in the Sports Bar (also open 24hrs) so they can grab some more food there :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
