Hi ladies, I am not a 2012 bride but do plan on getting married at the Riu Palace Punta Cana in March 2013. This thread has been very informative so far, I'm definitely taking notes. My FI and I will be travelling to RPPC Feb 28-March 6 this year to scope things out to be sure this is where we want to have our wedding before making such a huge commitment. I'd like to meet with the WC's while we are there, do you guys have any other suggestions on questions I can ask, or things to look for while i'm there? Anyone getting married WHILE I'm there??? That would be pretty cool...

Hi Ladies,

I emailed Maria to get confirmation for our private reception and she asked if I would like the ocean front side for $600 or the entire venue for $1000? Do you know the difference and what you guys choosen? I would like a complete private reception. Do you know if the $600 or $1000 includes anything or is that just the deposit or actual cost to rent? Any info would be helpful:)

Thank You,

Lindsay

Congrats philanab on becoming a Riu Palace Punta Cana bride hopefully!  The wedding coordinator there is Maria and her sister Magnolia.  My fiance and I did a site inspection there last March and met with Maria and she was great to work with and very helpful.  If you have any questions I can help you with feel free to ask, I've been emailing Maria lately with a bunch of questions.  Are you looking at any other hotels while you are there?

Hi Lindsay,

When Maria confirmed our reception at the Steakhouse she didn't mention the price of $1000 for the whole restaurant.  I just know of the $600. I was under the impression that was to have it private but I am going to have to ask her.  I don't think it includes anything, I think just to have it private....I could be wrong as I'm trying to figure out all these things too!

Sorry if I wasn't much help haha

Your website is lovely! You did a great job on that. We are getting married just a month after you, May 12th. So I cannot wait to hear all about your wedding and experiences!

We have also chosen the Tiffany Blue colour as our theme. We may blend our colour in with grey and fushia pink.  Fushia pink flowers will look very nicely with that colour ;)

Have you sent out your Save the Date Cards yet?

Jen

ps. see you on Facebook! :)

Congrats Hildalin! I am also a June bride but 2012.  This is the email address I use for the wedding coordinator Maria, mice.puj@riu.com.  As of a few weeks ago the rate that is now going on for us is 30% less than what it was originally.  Right now there is an early booking rate of $198/per night for double occupancy for a regular room, this is much cheaper than what it was a while back for us.  I am curious as to what everyone else's rates are for their time of year.  If you have any other questions feel free to ask!!  Choosing a hotel was also the hardest part for me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
