Yea we are not going to book our airfare until after Christmas, my pastor did a wedding in Punta Cana last year at the Dreams Resort and they waited until like 2-3 months before wedding to book flight and got really cheap flights. We are paying for our Pastors hotel for 3 nights. She is paying for her airfare. We are also still going to give her money for doing the ceremony. I haven't gotten confirmation on the private reception yet. We are going to use the DJ they have there but my husband kinda of wants the live band, so we may switch. My best friends husband is a photographer and he has offered to do our pictures so that is great we just need to get a videographer. I friend requested the FB RIU Punta Cana brides yesterday! I am glad you found me too. OH and our ceremony is at 2pm, reception at 5:00pm.

most of our guests are coming in Friday night, so we will have a welcome dinner/ rehearsal. after the reception we will probably have light cocktails. Sunday brunch with everyone and an excursion/ sight seeing with guest that want to come, everyone else is free to enjoy their time. Most people are leaving Monday, my husband and i are leaving Tuesday.

Hi Kelly! I added you on Facebook :) I'll see you there!

Your website is lovely! You did a great job on that. We are getting married just a month after you, May 12th. So I cannot wait to hear all about your wedding and experiences!

We have also chosen the Tiffany Blue colour as our theme. We may blend our colour in with grey and fushia pink.  Fushia pink flowers will look very nicely with that colour ;)

Have you sent out your Save the Date Cards yet?

Jen

ps. see you on Facebook! :)

This destination wedding was such a great idea but a great deal of work it turns out lol. My fiances parents visited the hotel and said that it was amazing....they brought me back a brochure with pictures and I fell in love. My original choice was paradisus palma real but its kind of pricy. If you guys have any further info on the hotel or pictures that would help, that would be great. I am having a religious wedding at the gazebo and private reception to follow....95 people and counting. Wish me luck!! lol

Thanks for the reply! I'm still waiting for WCs to explain to me when my reception should start haha I wanted a cocktail hour but don't think we will fit that in since our wedding is going to start at 6pm.  I'm just trying to take deep breaths and tell myself it will all work out...they do a million weddings a year for heavens sake! lol You are much more of a gambler than me! I had to know our airfare and rooms were locked in! I would be stressed out if I waited til after xmas! But best of luck to you girl!!

I haven't decided on colors yet but I'm thinking a light blue, and purple with a hint of yellow....I love yellow! :-) we will see...one thing at a time! So glad you ladies are here to help me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
