Iberostar anyone?

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

ladies,

I'm in the midst of trying to decide between the Iberostar Grand Punta Cana and the Paradisus Palma Real.  I've been to the Paradisus for vacation a few years ago and the service was phenomenal.  However, we went during slow season so that could be the case.  So, I thought that having a wedding at the Paradisus might be a good idea since I had such a great time there.

The other option is the Iberostar Grand.  Based on what I've read and seen ie pics on tripadvisor, this hotel looks amazing.  But I'm a little concerned as I'm having a difficult time finding deets on other people's experience there.

I'm also stressing out on trying to narrow down a place because I want to have more people attend but the Iberostar Grand is an adults only.  Not sure if you have any advice/thoughts on how you've made a decision on selecting a hotel?

Any guidance is greatly appreciated!!

I'm having my wedding at the Iberostar Grand in 4 weeks!  I found two other brides (via tripadvisor) who got married there.  They were absolutely happy with their experience.  They sent me pics so that I can see for myself.  And I have friends who stayed at the Bavaro (next door) and said that the Grand is amazing (at least from afar) and that the Iberostar service was great.   Also, I like the adults only atmosphere but I know it might be an issue for those with kids.  I have one couple with kids and they are staying at the Bavaro but the kids are allowed to come to ceremony and dinner.

I will right up a review after the wedding.

In any case, having read other posters.  I don't think  you can go wrong with any resort!

I am also planning on getting married at the Iberostar Dominicana in March 2012! I just e-mailed the wedding coordinator yesterday so we'll see how long she takes to get back to me. I have read nothing but good reviews about this group of 4 hotels. I like that the Dominicana is cheaper and guests can choose which of the four they want to stay at. I was also sold by the free ranging flamingos and roosters that are supposed to be here but I'm just crazy that way :) Can't wait to read the reviews coming :) Any information anyone can send me would be great!

Hi Ladies! I've stayed at the Iberostar's resorts in Punta Cana twice--once at the Dominicana, and last year at the Grand Bavaro. The other poster was not kidding, the Grand Bavaro is gorgeous but a ghost town. I think it probably has something to do with the price! The Domincana and Punta Cana are really quite fun. I found myself walking down the beach from the Grand Bavaro to the Punta Cana just to see what was going on! Also, the Punta Cana and Dominicana are getting face lifts this fall... hopefully it will be done in time for my January wedding!

For Nura-there really are all kinds of animals freely ranging the property! We saw turtles, frogs, fish, cockatiels, flamingos, ducks, roosters, etc. It's an awesome place and that's why we're going back! My fiance and I loved the food and found the service to be excellent.

I met with a wedding planner there the last time I was down. Her name is Santa and she couldn't be nicer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
