Wow, Tenny & Chris... you guys are making me seriously reconsider the sit down dinner on the day of the wedding! I never looked at the fact that we would have 2 sitdown dinners back to back. Hmmm, decisions decisions...

Chris can you give me the optios for the cocktail hour? Am I assuming that the cocktail portion can be seated Tenny, as you mentioned having 8 tables? How did your guests feel? Were they happy with cocktail and afterparty instead of a formal reception? I truly appreciate your feedback.

Diva, they give you a list to choose from, I know we had cocktail patties, shrimp, jerk chicken....I don't remember what else they had, there was a bar just for a us.  I don't even think anyone knew that it wasn't a full reception except for John and I.  It wasn't missed, people were dancing and mingling.  It was a great time...I wouldn't have changed anything!

I was curious of the menu myself so I asked my TA!  You will find below  the options my TA said the resort offered. Hope this helps. My plan as of now is to extend the one hour cocktail hour to two hours an extra $12 per person and add a beef craving station. And since I have more than 10 rooms booked I will get the $15 dollar credit per guest to toward my reception. I also plan to do the dj for two hours. This will be half of what I would have to pay for a seat down meal!! I will bring table runners and a few thing to put on the table and call it day. Later that night all the young folks are going to meet up and party like there is no tomorrow. Lol! Thanks again Tenny for all the information!!

Some example of hot - hors d' oeuvres are  shrimp, chicken skewers, sausage, for cold hors d' oeuvres - salmon, brie cheese, crab meat, all  bite size.

Thank you Ladies for the info. My FI are discussing this option now! With a Welcome dinner the night before, it does seem redundant to have another formal meal. Keeping you guys posted. Chrs, how is the planning going?  Tenny, you looked stunning on your day! Did you mention Kompa..Vous Ãªtes Haitienne? :-))))))

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
