Makeup on Carnival Dream?

I'm getting married on the Carnival Dream (sail date May 7, 2011) and asked Carnival if they have makeup services on board. The answer I got was "check with the salon when you board"...

Does anyone know if the Dream has makeup services on board? What's your experience with makeup on the Dream or other Carnival ships?

Thanks so much!!!!

Can't help you with that ship directly. A girlfriend of mine got married on a Princess ship last November. The salon did our hair, but not makeup (not sure if it was an option). Check out Carnival's website, usually there is a ship specific link, that might be able to help get you answers, or at least maybe an email address for the salon. (that's how we made our hair appointment for the Princess ship-which is Carnival's sister company).

Good luck!

Are you getting married before the ship sails or after?  You should be able to get make up services after you leave port, but if you are getting married the very first day of the cruise in port, you will want to hire an outside company to do your make up before you get to the port- you probably won't have time on the ship.

Good luck and Congratulations!

Hmm I know this is an old thread but I was wondering about the same things. Hairdo and make-up on the ship. I am cruising with Princess. I wondered if it was nice and if I should get ready on the ship (would save some time) or find a private salon on the island.

I can't help you with make-up, but I got my hair done on a Princess cruise for a wedding and it was fantastic. The salon was super nice and everyone was very professional. I think it was about $70 for an updo. (it was a girlfriend's wedding, not mine)

Word of advice- should you choose to do it on the ship, email them ahead of time to book time slots. They fill up quite quickly once everyone is on board!

(here is a photo of my hair, as well as the brides' hair)

Oh I like your hair! It looks really nice and fancy. Did you bring in a picture and have them to do that style? Did you have to bring in your own flowers? I like your flowers too and the idea of wearing a tiara.

We did not have any photos with us! Like I said the salon staff were fantastic. It was quite windy, so wanted something pinned up. And they just created! The brides' hair was only about chin length and they worked their magic and it looked like a million bucks.

The flowers -my girlfriend had picked up at home at Claire's accessories. So yes, I would bring your own tiara and flowers (unless you want to use real flowers, in which case you would have to order them ahead of time through the ship's wedding department)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
