Hi everyone and congrats!!! I'm an April 2012 bride :) My fiance and I have just booked our big day at the Iberostar Rose Hall Suites Jamaica (Montego Bay).. so excited!! Let the planning begin...

Anyone else booked for April at the Rose Hall?

We are waiting on quotes from our TA's so hoping we get a good rate, wanted to avoid Feb/Mar thinking it would be more expensive with spring breaks and peak winter traveling.

Happy planning everyone, am loving this site, the wealth of information is overwhelming!

Save the dates have been sent, got the dress, booked the photographer, website up & running, just ordered a few lil things like our cake topper, my 'mrs' hanger, BM bags, and my garter :)

Right now looking around for BM dresses, researching DJs, and working on the invites (when are you ladies sending yours out btw? I've heard everything from July of this year to December! lol).

Look forward to hearing how all of your planning is going!

Hi beachbum....Congrats! I just became a April 2012 bride too! I'm booked April 20th at the RIU Palace Punta Cana!!! So excited! So here is my first real question....is it bad taste or tacky  not to send STDs and go right to the invitations? I just figured we already have rooms blocked off and our TA has the rates so might as well have guests start booking! right? I need some advice or suggestions. Thanks girls!!

Hi there, If are ready to go straight to invitations, do it! I want to make mine and think it will take me forever! Lol! I wouldn't bother with the added expense if you don't have to! :)

i just finished my invitations today, and posted them on here, only to find out that I cant send them out due to a strike in the canadian post office lol......we decided not to do STD cards and go right to the invitations. as far as everything else goes, weve booked the resort and the wedding package, the photographer, got my dress and reception dress, wedding bands are bought, Ive bought some wedding decorations already, im starting my welcome booklet tomorrow and have got the wording done for our AHR Oh and our OOT bags have been started too lol .

There seems like so much to do still and although its still a year away, its alot to plan lol

Need some insight ladies: I'm working with my invitation lady and I'm not sure the quantity to order - I sent out 76 save the dates in April and while I've heard from several people that DO plan to come, I haven't heard yes's or no's from the majority of my group (other than the 'we got your save the dates! Yay!' type thing).

So after sending STDs, I hear that it's best to send invites to just the people you know are coming and not send one to those you know aren't coming (I like this idea too - not to sound cheap, but it saves time & $ too). So if I haven't heard a solid 'no' from anyone yet, should I just order the same quantity as what I mailed for my STDs? Or should I panic because no one's booked yet? Haha I guess I was naive thinking ppl would book as soon as they received the STDs...

Any advice is MUCH appreciated :) not sure why I'm worried!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
