I would assume they would just charge you a per person fee for anything over 50.

For those of you who have been to MP is there a map of the resort. I hear it's very large and I'm really having difficulty imagining it. I'm not sure if I've missed it on the threads here or maybe someone can direct me to Google. Let me know! I am looking forward to saying 'I do' in 2014!!

Coconoir1908's reception was on the caribbean terrace- look for her pictures or you can probably PM her to get her to send you some! We hung out at the bar there a few nights and the night after our wedding we saw a reception up there where the bride and groom actually lived 10 min away from us..small world!!! :)   It is the best option for a "private" reception as they block off half of the terrace and hotel guests can only use half of the terrace.  And the view is pretty! :)

Thank you! I Have PMd her but she hasn't been on for a bit...I also creeped her pictures and didn't see any of it all done up. I will take a look again and see if I missed them! And if they block off only half for your reception is it actually private??

You're welcome!

Well nothing is 100% private unless you have the reception in a ballroom.  They aren't going to allow anyone come over and "crash" your reception unless you welcome people- which I think Coco did! :)   They didn't let us use but a corner of the bar up there when the reception was going on- there was like an imaginary line we couldn't cross lol.  So you will have people watching your reception but they will just be onlookers.  And we were the only ones up there that night- but there were 30 of us lol. :)

It was pretty and the most secluded you will get outside but it is not worth $20 a person to me.  The Tucan terrace is just fine in my opinion!! The caribbean is nice in case your wedding night is windy- there will be less wind up there!

I actually got married at Sun Palace but I had my rehersal dinner on the Verando Terrace on the grand side and it was perfect! It was really windy that night but other than that it was great- that part of the resort is pretty quiet and not as crowded so we hardly had anyone walk by in the time we were there! :)

For us it was worth the extra cost to get what I wanted without passers-by!  In addition we were given an extra hour at our reception as a thank you for the business that we brought it.  For us it was the best and we would do it again!

Britt, I just responded.  I was on vacation from the 17th until the 23rd and in the midst of that had a death in the family.  My apologies for the last response.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
