What a great thread.  Its really difficult to arrange your locations when you are not 100% sure where you are staying.  I have requested either the sunrise or grand due to the work in Nizuc when we are there.

I am hoping for the Tucan gazebo and terrace, Fingers crossed...

Are they down with construction on the Sunrise and moved onto Nizuc?   When I was there in November they were working on Sunrise.

Not 100% sure if they have finished with Sunrise but its been confirmed by our tour operator that the work will be commencing in October.  There were rumours on facebook so we sent them an email.

Thank you for the info!! Hopefully the Oct- Dec brides can stay away from the Nizuc side during that time then!! I'd recommend the grand side- it's so pretty and quiet over there and the rooms are bigger!! :)

I am still in the initial planning stages, but these pictures have been AMAZING!!  I have not completely decided on a resort but am highly considering Moon Palace due to the price and the fact that it is all inclusive, not to mention all the great reviews I have read.  I do have a question though; in most of the pictures, it seems to be pretty windy.  Is the wind a big problem, like annoyingly so, or is it only sometimes heavy?  Also, what do you all think is the best time of day to get married, photography and comfort-wise?  We are planning to be married May 3, 2014 hopefully. All help would be appreciated...

Jenny,

Welcome & Happy Planning!  Everyone will have a difference of opinion however; the wind (wasn't a MAJOR factor).  However; you will find that if you have a beach wedding, you will be subject to the wind a little more.  There are stories of veils/hair flying thereby most brides chose updo's.  So just be prepared if that is what you want.

I was married in the Tucan Gazebo and it gave us and our guest the best of both worlds.  Pretty view of the water along with shade and the ability to wear their heels (smile).  We were married at 5 and for us it was the best time.  Again not to hot, plenty of time for sunlight and pictures taking.. and we have some great shots with the sun going down.

Hope this help.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
