Hi fellow Jade Brides! We are getting married there in Jan 2012 - only 6 mons to go!! We picked the Divine package and are using the resort's photographer, videographer and DJ which is included in our package. Locations are Pergola for the ceremony, Blue Bar for the cocktails and Bamboo room for the reception. I will be bringing my own chair bows and table runners to match our colour. Pilar has been good with email responses so far. Haven't decided about the florists yet - is that a lot cheaper to bring an outside vendor in? Even with the resort surchanges, etc? Do you ladies have any local vendors to recommend? Thanks for your help and happy planning! :)

Hi! I'm also getting married at Now Jade in Jan 2012! What's your date? We have our date reserved but need to send in our confirmation this week... Did they give you the DJ from the 2011 package? When I asked about it Pilar said it has been replaced by live music but if we wanted it we could go with the Divine package and pay an extra $350 to have 2 hrs of DJ service... This looks like a pretty incredible resort, can't wait!

Hi! Congrats on your engagement! I am in Toronto but about half of my guests are flying from Vancouver to Now Jade in January. We are using Natalie MacKenzie with Flight Centre and she has gotten us rates of $1530 from Van with Air Canada. Don't know if it makes sense to use a TO agent but she's been absolutely amazing for us so far. Let me know if you want her contact info!

Hey Ladies!  We're getting married on April 6th and besides picking the resort and putting a deposit down, I'm just getting started with the planning.  I'm trying to get a realistic budget and wanted to know what the rest of you think you'll spend?  I think we'll have about 40 people so paying per person after the 25 included with the package will add up, but I have no idea what an average dress costs or invites, welcome bags, etc... Any insight would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi kthun!  I'm getting married at Now Jade on April 7/12!  Hope to see you there!  We're estimating we'll have about 35-40 people at our wedding.  We have 31 booked already!  I asked Pilar about the cost for the extra people (above the 25 included in the Eternity Package) for the cocktain hour, I asked if we could do away with the cocktail hour (since we didn't want to pay for the extra people to eat hor d'oeuvres when they can just grab snacks on their own and then the Beach Bar would just be open as usual).  She said that the food that's provided at the cocktail hour for the 25 people count would be enough for up to 45 people.  So, since we're not going to have to pay extra per person, we're going to keep the coacktail hour.  I still have yet to talk to Pilar about other things (the cost of the extra people at the reception) and decorations.  But I'm hoping there will be more felxibility to come!  I'm trying to keep a decent budget and not go too far over the cost of the Eternity Package since we're also having a reception when we come back to Canada.  For gift bags, I found some great mesh bag's at the dollar store that match our colours and so far I have a mini spanish phrase book (prinited it online) and battery operated fans.  I'm not sure what else we're going to put in (besides info on the resort and our wedding day) but probably just some snacks, tylenol, bandaids, etc... We're giving out most of the bags to our local guests before we leave home so we don't have to lug them all there.  Happy planning!

Hello! I am new to this site but saw your post and thought I would introduce myself! We are getting married at the Now Jade on April 12th 2012! We live in Wales though in the UK and probably one of the few UK brides on here! Would love to hear other people's experiences of Now Jade, it looks amazing!

LOVE the spanish phrases book idea! I was thinking about putting the obvious travel size sunscreen and aloe in our welcome bags only because I heard that they run about $25 if you have to buy it there.  I'm also thinking about using luggage tags (I found really cute ones on etsy) to use for place settings/favors.  That is a really good tip about the cocktail hour and will at least cut down costs a little.  I'm also hoping that they don't charge for children as "extra people" over the 25 guests.  Let me know if you get any other great bargains or cost saving tips!  We're bringing our two little kids along with a nanny so our travel cost alone is a little more than the average.  I starting to get excited though!

I know, I'm so excited too! I can't believe we still have 8 months to go!  Hopefully the time will fly by.  There will be some children at our wedding too (a few 3 year olds) so I agree and hope they aren't counted. I'll keep you updated on any other deals I find, please do the same :)

Hi Welshgirl!  Welcome!  We're at the resort until April 15/12 so maybe we'll see you there!  Hope things go well with your planning too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
