Las Vegas Wedding Advice Needed Please (esp Hard Rock Hotel and Rumor Boutique Resort advice) ...

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone :)!

We are super excited about our upcoming nuptials on 11-11-11.

We were/are looking at Cancun and the Dominican, but due to language barriers and a few let downs, we are looking at going back to our first love/idea - LAS VEGAS!  We have been to Vegas 6-7 times over the past two years and we LOVE it :).

We are a super modern couple, both successful in entertainment and media.  Thus, we both love glitz and glam, so we want our wedding to be a proper wedding with an edge.  Sexy, chic, modern, old Hollywood with an antique gothic look.  Blacks, royal purples and touches of red.

We are looking at the Hard Rock Hotel's "Rock & Roll" themed wedding http://www.hardrockhotel.com/gather/weddings and also at the new Rumor Boutique Resort's wedding packages http://www.rumorvegas.com/weddings/.

We have not been to either of these hotels (we have stayed at Vdara, Monte Carlo, Wynn, Luxor, Paris and NYNY) so am wanting some advice from people that have been and especially those of you who have been married at either of these locations.

Photos would be so appreciated :)!!

Thanks in advance - so looking forward to our special day and connect with all of you gorgeous brides on here :) :) :)!

xx

Hi GKGC,

I am new to the website and was looking through the LV forum. Getting married in LV May 22, 2011. We chose Planet Hollywood. It has a really cool vibe. Have you checked it out? I am looking to connect with LV brides to share ideas with over the next couple of months. There doesn't seem to be too much action lately on the LV forums. Would love to know how things are coming along for you. Have you picked your ceremony location yet?

Hi VegasBride0511,

Great to connect with you on here :).  Definitely a lack of LV brides on here at the mo.

We love Planet Hollywood! Congrats on choosing it for your wedding :)!  The only reason I hadn't considered it in the running is that I have contacted them 3 times via email and no-one has ever bothered getting back to me.  Do you have an email address for a WC perhaps?

What are their rates like?

Really? I've been working with Erin and she has been great. I have two email contacts PHVWeddings@planethollywood.com and her personal one egilday@harrahs.com

They have a number of packages to fit any budget and I think they have one of the best indoor chapels on the strip. You can find their packages online at http://www.planethollywoodresort.com/casinos/planet-hollywood/casino-misc/wedding-packages-detail.html

Hope that helps. Did you end up getting info from Hard Rock. I think I emailed them and got no response.

The panorama suite looks amazing too so we booked that for our reception/party and for the night before the wedding so I have a swanky place to get ready! Keep me updated on how things go.

Personally I like the vibe at Hard Rock better than Planet Hollywood. Planet Hollywood seems a little cheap to me. I don't mean that in a bad way, but the pool, gaming areas, etc are just not as nice. I have never been to a wedding at either place though. I would suggest a scouting trip so you can get a feel! Hav you looked into The Palms?

Hey girls, I think I considered all of these places when I was looking for a LV reception.  I'm just a little confused, do you mean Planet Hollywood the Hotel or the Restaurant at Caesars Palace? Because your picture is of the Caesars Palace but your link is to the Hotel.  I think the restaurant is very affordable and they have great options, but you can't be picky about a theme or style of you wedding because they place is very themed already.

As for the Hard Rock, again I'm confused because I requested info from the Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip. The link is: http://www.hardrock.com/locations/cafes3/cafe.aspx?LocationID=507&MIBEnumID=3

It's very beautiful, amazing view and location.  I loved it! A bit pricey, but I think it would be worth it.  They have a banquet room, but I wanted the patio.  I think that would be an amazing option!

As for the Rumor Hotel, my sister stayed there on our last trip to Vegas.  The Hotel is definitely something else! I looked around and though, omg this is exactly the kind of decor I like, it's so cool and modern, I bet it would make a great reception site! I can't believe they actually do weddings! How cool!  Sorry, I didn't take pics of the actual space, but she has some of her room. It has a small living room, and a separate room.  Very nice! The entire hotel is deocrated beautifully.  They have a large open area, a pool, and a volleyball area, and small cabanas in the pool.  I'm sure you can do so much fun stuff there.

Hey!

If you like the vintage, "old-glam" idea, you might want to check out Mandalay Bay's "Vintage Vogue" wedding package  I've stayed at the Mandalay Bay and it's gorgeous; very chic and modern.  There's also a lot of good restaurants in Mandalay Bay too if you're thinking of doing a reception afterwards. (And FYI, the "House of Blues" restaurant is right off of the casino floor and it's amazing for Happy Hour)

The only thing about the Mandalay Bay is that its right at the south end of the strip so it's not quite as convenient as some of the other casinos are.  There is the tram which connects you to Luxor and to Excalibur.  Otherwise, you're looking at walking towards the rear of the MGM to hop on the monorail (it's a good 15 - 20 min walk from Mandalay Bay) which is a really convenient way to explore the strip (definitely do the all day pass - it's the best bang for your buck).  There's always cabs of course too, but they get pretty pricey when you're coming from one end of the strip to the other.

Good luck with your search!
Les

Hi! I'm a bride looking for a venue for our wedding in the summer of 2012. I was originally set on Wynn's outdoor venue but my fiancee really wants to check into the Hard Rock as he recently stayed there & loved it. I was wondering which venue you chose. I'm looking for an outdoor venue with lots of greenery/flowers or a nice poolside. If anyone has any pics to share that would be so helpful! Thanks!

Hey! I just found this by googling for some Las Vegas wedding advice myself. We are planning our wedding for April 2012.  I would love to hear from Vegasbride how Planet Hollywood turned out!?  I hope you had a wonderful wedding.  As for GKGC, what did you end up deciding on for the ceremony and reception??

We are going to Vegas on September 9th to do some scouting because booking from out here in Alberta is just too nerve racking! I am hoping to maximize this trip, and come home with everything booked, or at least decided upon.  Any new info or advice on where else to check out or what to do would be great!

Has anyone heard of the Plaza at Whitney Ranch or the Wellington Place?

Thanks so much!

Im also looking at having my wedding at HardRock Hotel  September 2012.  I haven't heard anything back from them in over a month and there isn't any info or photos on their website which is a bummer.  Please let me know if you find any further details.   Im also considering Ceasar Palace because they have a great Garden Ceremony option.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
