Seperate TTD dress???

Recommended Posts

It really makes for some AMAZING photos.  Trash the dress is not always true to its name to be honest.  The concept of trash the dress is that such a beautiful thing (a white wedding dress and bride) is put in a scenery, place, position that is out of context to where it should be.  In the jungle, on the beach, in the ocean, in the pool are just some of the DW TTD that you will see.  Some brides dont literally TRASH in the TTD shoot but rather get some really interesting photos.

That being said some TTD is very true to its name and brides are taking it to the extreme resulting in some absolutely breathtaking and at times scary images.  I have seen FIs (or I guess then husbands) spray painting the dress and lighting the dress on fire.

You should definitely search the forum for TTD and you will get a better idea of the variety of TTD shoots and where it can go, plus some of the images are just awesome!!!

I too bought another dress for my TTD for one reason I need to wear it again for our AHR and well I wanted something different for our TTD so I went with a dress of colour, my thing was that i didnt want these pics to look the same as the wedding pics. Our TTD is the next day, where our photographer is thaking us to Bob Marley museum and graffiti walls so I wanted something that would go with the theme.

I'm doing a TTD the following day... because of the lighting on the island and we want to stay traditional and not see eachother before the ceremony, we will be doing a portrait shoot before heading to the beach to trash it.  It makes for amazing photos and I say one man, one dress...

I will be purchasing a short white dress for my AHR, more of a party dress!

Can't wait!

I used my actual one and it came out perfectly clean and stayed in excellent condition.  I love that people think the TTD pics are the same day as the wedding pics, and the grandeur of the real wedding dress in the exotic location was something really special to experience.  You totally feel like a model when your train is billowing in the wind on a beautiful beach by the ocean! It's surreal love.gif

I'm selling mine at an affordable price if anyone doesn't want to use their wedding dress for TTD, it's in my siggy.  I guess it was an easier choice for me 'cause I didn't have an AHR to worry about having a nice dress for.  Though if I did, the dress would be clean and ready to go anyways!

My dress was all spanish lace, and it was cleaner after jumping into the ocean and pools than it was after dinner the night before! LOL

Big thing, after it's been in the ocean/pools, stand in the shower and run fresh water over it, getting all the clorine/salt out, once you take it off, dry it out completely! I left ours on our balcony and it was dry within the day. Then I wasn't worried about moisture wreaking it later.

Whatever you choose, do it! The TTD was so much fun pinkie.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
