Hard Rock Hotel & Casino

Hi Ladies!!

My fiance and I have just decided on the Hard Rock for our wedding in August of this year.... Soon, right?!? Their website looks absolutely AMAZING and this is the perfect atmosphere for our personalities.  I'm very excited!

We are working with a travel agency here (I'm from Ohio) who will also assist us in working with the wedding planner at the Hard Rock.  We are planning on doing the legal marriage here in Ohio before we go down there, so the "ceremony" will just be basically for show and something fun for us.  Then it's 9 days of paradise and enjoying being newlyweds.

We are not taking any guests with us.  Just us two! Has anyone else done this or know of someone who has? Both of our families have the "whatever makes us happy" attitude.  Something intimiate and exclusive is what we are going for, with a big reception when we return.

If anyone has any advice, pointers, etc. about the Hard Rock, destination weddings, or the Dominican Republic in general, I would love to hear about it!

Good luck and happy planning!

I am also getting married at the Hard Rock in October, 2011. When researching the marriage part of it, it seems a lot easier to get married in the states first before going to Punta Cana.  We are looking at getting married the week before in the court house and have a symbolic ceremony in Punta Cana.  Has anyone had luck with their Wedding Coordinator? The lady I was assigned told me that the on site wedding coordinator would contact me 3 months before the wedding to set up details.  YIKES that worries me b/c I want to get all the details done now.  Any information would help.  The pictures online look amazing.

Hi ladies! I'm not a Hard Rock bride and I'm not sure if everyone already knows about this, but I got this in my e-mail today and thought I'd pass it on in case someone hasn't seen it yet. It's a $1500 resort credit that can be used towards tours, room upgrades, your wedding packages and a bunch of other stuff. Happy planning!

Yes! I used my $1500 credit towards my downpayemt for the wedding. I only had to put down $875 to secure the date!

They do allow you to bring in your own Pastor/officiant. And you can probably use outside vendors but you do have to pay for them to come into hotel which I believe is $88 a day for a guest pass. Our Priest is flying down with us and staying at the hotel so we are able to use him for the ceremony.

Hope that helps! You can use the 1500 towards the wedding packages, not sure if you can use it towards the photography though, probably only the part that is included in the packages.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
