Majestic Elegance---Summer 2011

Recommended Posts

I have been silently lurking around this website for a while now.  Hahaha.

That's great that you're done your OOT bags!  What did you include in them?

Here's what I have done recently:

Started collecting items for our OOT bags...I think the only thing left to get is the bags themselves and some snacks since the mini bar doesnt have any.

I bought raffia fans and now need to get ribbon to wrap them.

Picked out our wedding favors (luggage tags) but haven't designed them to be printed yet. (my sister works at a place that prints them)

Checked up on the bridesmaid dresses and the friggin dress store is of no help as to when they will be in.  We may need to get a backup plan if the dresses dont arrive in time to alter.

Our invites went out and now we're getting them back in the mail (we have 45 guests coming so far and we don't expect any more)

What elseeeeeeee...besides hoping to lose a few pounds and toning up :)  But we leave in something like 72 days so I doubt that's enough time to feel how I want to.

Oh we need to pick songs for DJ Mannia.

OH and yesterday I finished my bridesmaids gifts so now the fiance needs to get his a$$ in gear.

Feel far behind and it's overwhelming!!!!!!!

Hey there,

I have been lurking too- we hit the 150 mark and stopped writing all of us LOL. Except Islandbride who's wedding is coming up in 3 weeks GULP.

I am trying to think of what I put in them- I thought I went nuts and when I saw the finished product I was disappointed with how pathetic it looked LOL.

1- meds- pepto- bandaids- usual stuff- bug spray too since I hear they are bad

2- soaps and know you those puffs for bathing with (forgot their name) since no wash clothes to be found at the Elegance

2- pool tubes for everyone

3- scented candles- luggage tags - crossword puzzles and pads of paper

4- welcome brochure which was a pain - did them myself and did not turn out nice- should have done it through vista LOL. I actually thought I had a bit of talent and failed miserably plus spent hundreds on ink and paper LOL

5- key holders- not waterproof cheaped out

6- mugs

hmmmm I think that is it- once I put it in the bag- it looked cheap  but I spent a lot.

We are up to 20 people- My friend might come- deciding now- so maybe 21. less then two months to go.

2nd dress fitting is this week- alterations are a fortune since I am changing the dress a lot- still on the hunt for a head piece. Have not bought the MOH gift yet.

my guy got his suit from Studio suits on Friday and its longer in the front then the back- he doesn't see the big deal but I have to get that fixed. He looks like a Miami vice character in the linen. I guess they all do LOL.

I cheaped out again and going the IPOD route. best man is supposed to be working on it but I have a sinking feeling that he isn't. I don't want to bug him since he is being nice by doing it but I don't want to be stuck with no music because he didn't feel like doing it.

yeah everything is overwhelming and I am obsessed with reading the reviews on Tripadvisor and panic every time.

Good luck with everything. People say its fun to plan- are they crazy????? Trying to enjoy the moment but finding it hard to find pleasure in it :)

SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP, ANYONE!!!!

I am getting married at the ME in 3 weeks and have MAJOR MAJOR concerns.... My WC quoted me a few months ago at $760 for a package for 40 people and is now telling me that it's $1000 for 40 people and $19 extra per person, so that is $1190 for the same pacakge that she quoted me at $760.

The reason I got a quote was to BUDGET for the wedding and now they are telling me it went up $430 in a matter of NO TIME. I want the price honored because THIS is what they sent me!!! It wasn't like I am getting married a year from now, it was 3 months before my date.

This is not the only thing too, it's A LOT OF STUFF... plus she gave me a provisional quote and she charged me 46% is taxes... PLEASE HELP.... If anyone has or is getting married within the next few days, weeks, or over the summer at ME or MC please send me your provisional quote... I am about to lose my mind.... Please e-mail me at nbrittell@Hotmail.com. I'm desperate and am about to have a breakdown--- how do I handle this and has anyone handled this before and gotten the original price you were quoted at--- I HAVE EMAILS (FYI)

Thanks for ANYONES HELP!!!

Natalie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
